Good morning everyone.... its my first day back from California... I was down there with the family for two weeks. While we were there, we were doing Walmart runs for food, etc so I decided to check out the hunting section....

It was almost a cookie cutter replica of our Canadian Walmart, except when I looked in the ammo cabinet... they stocked a ton of handgun ammo... and not just regular 9mm, 45acp stuff... they had 25cal, .380 and .38 spec, 357sig, 40cal and a couple others.... and the common 9, .40, .45 stuff had 3-4 different options to pick from.

I was totally shocked.

Anyway, I thought it was interesting so I figured I'd share.... have a great day.

If Big Momma Walmart USA is stocking "pistol" ammo in their stores, then obviously corporate policy allows this. Since Walmart (Canada) follows corporate policy, I would think it is high time that we push Walmart (Canada) to stock 9mm, 40, and 45 in the stores here. They can't claim corporate policy doesn't allow for this anymore.
 
I saw the same thing in the Walmarts in Texas a few years back , all the types of hand gun ammo you wanted and then some . Lots of rifles and shotguns too . The pawn shops and the like were like candy stores with lots of hand guns . Whole different attitude there .
 
Walmart is THE LARGEST purchaser of ammunition in North America....Larger than the US DOD. Heard that directly from a Winchester National Sales Manager....kinda shocked me.

I am a letter writer. Below you will find the response from someone at Walmart regarding selling handgun ammo. They have no clue where the revenue is to be made in ammo sales:

Thank you for your enquiry.

Our buyer has requested to have the list of stores you shop and to have more specific information relative to the rifle ammunition, as we do carry.

However, with regards to handgun ammunition, we do not carry any such product. The decision was purely a business decision.
