Once again, I have noticed that the house is much drier and wonder how is everybody dealing with static at their reloading benches?

Are you grounding yourself, your equipment or neither?

Static removal on equipment

save your used dryer sheets, then use them to lightly wipe down any equipment
(powder pans, powder dispenser etc.) with the used towelettes. This works well
in preventing static cling of powder.

I reload in my garage and my dad wore a nylon winbreaker type jacket out to help me. When he took it off and sat down he charged up like crazy. He put the powder funnel in a case charging it up too. I went to pour a load in and about half of the powder stuck on the funnel, rods standing on end. Did the used bounce sheet to take the static off everything and got him to discharge his body on the light switch cover screw.

Well, after working on some 12 gauge the problem continued. I could see and hear the powder move inside the hull when I set the shell down, after charging with the dispenser on my bench's melamine work surface.

I found a wrist style static strap and ran some wire to the heating vent in the room for a ground. It helped with the problem but what I noticed really exacerbated things was pushing the collection of charged hulls across the surface only a few inches.

I need to get the right size bushings for my shotshell presses and minimize hull and thus powder movement.
