I'm not at all interested in a semi-automatic .223
The .223 round doesn't make sense without a select fire rifle. If you're shooting and aiming you can handle the recoil of the .308 and muzzle rise is a non-issue. Not to mention you can't hunt with a .223 in Alberta and I don't shoot coyotes I think the Classic Green, although one of the finest weapons available, is not worth my money.
I just had the numbers run, and a lightly used SCAR 17S with all original packaging to my door including all US and Canadian fees and shipping would be within a few dollars of $2,950
However for that price I think I'd rather do up my (or buy another already done up) M-14S
Hrm someone should tell FN that it's not out yet, their rep told me it was in limited quantities.
The price included putting the long barrel from FN in the box and removing the short barrel but not installation. They claim it was a demo unit and it does show some wear.
Perhaps it's a scam.

FN did release some of them a few months ago. They were going for crazy prices on Gunbroker.
Was that the 17S? The 16S was released to dealers who had participated in the FNH USA stocking program and my understanding is that they received them free.
And yes the initial batch of 16S that was on Gunbroker initially fetched almost $9k in some cases but they are now down to around $2,700. However, as far as I am aware, no 17S were on that site or any other.
Not sure where the 17S that FiveBillionAcres is talking about came from but I would treat it as suspect until proper due diligence and provenance could be determined. Don't get me wrong, if he could get it for that price and it was a real transaction I would bow before him and be really really really happy for him. Just be careful.

Good choice. The SCAR is for those that already have a Swiss Arms![]()
Why not get a gun that doesn't require you to shoot a threat multiple times to stop it?![]()

Thanks for the incredible detail. I will look for "an awesome gun dealer" in the yellow pages. That should narrow it down.
So many helpful people on this site.
...after posting I received a number of warning PM's to take down the dealers info, there was a newsletter sent out to the dealers customers with info, and a link to pre-order... but it is privileged information, so I edited my post
