Steel Challenge at abby rod and gun UPDATE: We have legit steel!

im in. just to check out a range in abby period. id like to join a range locally. if anyone who is a member wouldnt mind taking a responsible shooter on a guess pass to get the feel for a range give me a pm.
 
UPDATE

we are going to run 2 stages on wed dec 7th, $5 to shoot (add 10$ if you are a non-member)

start at 6pm, show up earlier if you want to help set up. Show up with what you have, no magnum calibers (including .22mag) as per the steel challenge rules.

if you have a spare gun with mags that you dont mind someone else borrowing shoot me a pm and ill keep a list, And if you dont have a pistol but want to try it out send me a pm as well and i will try and match you up.

Is this handguns only, or rifle as well?
I can bring a few extras out to loan.

anything that shoots a .22lr or a non magnum pistol caliber.

so pistol caliber carbines are good, full rifle rounds are not for safety and steel damage reasons
 
I will bring my .22 1911, my SR22, and I am guessing my M1 carbine .30 cal would be ok?
I have been wanting to shoot it sometime.
 
hmm, I know the M1 Carbine isn't especially powerful, but I don't think I want to open the steel up to anything other than pistol caliber and rimfire.

If Abby is running the authentic Steel Challenge stages, then each stage is 5 strings of 5 rds each (except 'Outer Limits' which is 4 strings). There are no mandatory reloads but unless you don't mind taking up everyone else's time reloading your mags while on the line, I'd say a minimum of 3 x mags (assuming 10 rd mags), and preferably 5 x mags, would be appropriate.
 
cry for help: both timers that were going to be used for this have died, so if you have one and are coming, please bring it otherwise we may have to resort to a free timer app
