"Sten" gun

Any chance of a 7.62x25 TT conversion kit (bolt and barrel) sounds like it would be a quick swap I saw something like that in the States for a "magnum Sten".

Yup it is 9mm, and a local canadian guy to boot.

Yes the wooden stock is an option as well with or without the wood foregrip.

I think it is ingenious and it is fully registered with a new FRT number an all. It has been handled and inspected by teh rcmp in full and passed with alot of work from the maker. Note this is not hte only offering from this fellow but it is the one I found most appealing to my unique taste for the odd.

The mags already are originally 7.62x25 so all that would be needed is a barrel so the builder would have to source that one is all. SHould be easy enough but I do not build them so he is the one to ask. He is very god to talk to and very accomodating.

ALso there is a DIY kit coming out for the police carbine sterlings. That is also a must have for me. THe real deals are hard as heck to find and close to 4 g's. THe diy kits will be less than half that and the legalities are nil. I did not do the leg work on the kit issue so the builder needs to give you the first hand facts on his guns and kits so I am not caught in the middle misinforming anyone.

I've got one of Mick's side feeding sick mag Stens. I received the attractive dummy barrel to show it off, and the 18.5" target barrel to shoot it. Truly a gem of a gun.

Nice gun, and I like the "Made in Sask"bit too. It's probably more than I would spend; but that's my shortcoming, cheap bastard that I am.
I'm definitely going to take some pic's to the doghouse today, someone's gotta buy one.
Chip9 better get a couple in; enough with the Black rifles, buy local (the southern Sask boys will understand the last statement).

From what I understand the sterling " kit's" will basically be a finshed gun apart from the magwell. Once the magwell is complete it will need registering and attaching to the tube. As with a sten it's the magwell that is the registerable component.

Spencer said the kit's will take the average person an afternoon to complete and will come with full instructions.

Glad i'm south of the border. My MkII Sten works like it's supposed to.

Oddly enough I got the parts kit out of Canada. The rear of the reciever is a section of exhaust pipe I got from Midas Muffler. Fortunately the front part of the reciever came with the ejector in place.:D

Thanks guys, A range report will follow as i am headed out sunday with a couple hundred rounds of AE 125 grain. With reloading I am hoping the cost per round wil be around 10-14 cents.

There are reasonable sources of 9mm ammo too.

I'd be curious about what fps you get with that long tube. Accuracy too.

Unfortunately I have high hopes for accuracy and am curious about FPS as well. NOw I have an excuse to get another handgun in 9mm since I will be reloading now as I expect this gun to be as much fun to shoot and show as a rimfire. Now to go over and read the reloading forums and EE. I need to reload for 9mm and 45acp now.

You would have to ask him. I am merely a very very happy customer that likes to pass on the good word. He has a few ideas onthe go including the sterling DIY mentioned earlier. Mick is open to ideas but of course not all ideas are practical so feel free to bounce them off of him. Le tme tell you though if I were him with his tools and abilities/skills I would have to quit my day job just to build cool toys for myself let alone others. :dancingbanana:

aney idea if he will be making PPSH's

Tubes are easy to drill, as soon as you start trying to build guns that require a whole bunch of stamping (therefore expensive machinery and tooling), it becomes less practical. You'd have to ask him yourself for a true answer, but this would be my best guess.
