Sterling Arms Intl 9mm PCC Sneak Peak

I like the look and the idea of this Intl 9mm PC, and regardless of what others think, I like this JR Cox fellow. He seems genuine and he obviously has passion for our sport shooting industry!.....:)

Yes I am aware of the mistakes he has made, we are all human, and we all make mistakes. He has apologized for his, so lets leave it at that. I remember reading in the bible when Jesus said, "he who has no sin amongst them, may cast the first stone". So lets move forward and let JR and Sterling Arms bring us some nice rifles to shoot with.

I really wanted the RMK18, but unfortunately we will have to wait for the Conservatives to rescind the current OIC's and unjust laws once they have a majority government.

$1600 but it wasn’t clear if it was 1599 or 1699
Thank you, this was going to be my next question.....:)

$1600.00 is a lot of money these days. A lot of gas and groceries for some of us. In saying that, we may have to sell some guns to try this new rifle out.

What is everyone's take on that $1600.00 price tag? Are you in, or out?.......:)

My take is $1600 CDN was a lot of money........ today it doesn't buy nearly as much as in the past.....$50 bills have become the new "$20's" so to speak.

Look at the price of a Rossi 92, They have almost doubled over the last decade of Liberal financial terror.

I wish Sterling Arms all the best in these troubling times and while I'm not in the market for a new 9mm carbine, I would consider one of these if I was.

I’m interested to know the actual weight of the bolt. Every video i’ve watched they mention the bolt is beefy and heavy but haven’t provided an actual weight. 9mm blowback needs about 21.5 ounces of reciprocating mass so I wonder how close the r9 bolt gets to that weight.

I wonder if the balance of my tse membership and store credit could be applied as a discount towards this pcc…….hold on let me slap myself, there thats better. I just re-read the e-mail I received when it closed, nothing to indicate any “mistakes made” and most certainly no apologies!
Yes I’m aware that was in reference to what happened years ago but no apology this go around in any correspondence I received.
I personally will pass. I would have been interested otherwise. Hope it works out for the rest of you.

Each to his (or her) own. More for the rest of us to choose from, I reckon.

Yes, JR Cox was to blame for one of the several Swiss arms bans years ago, and unfortunately, more recently one of his businesses went bankrupt as a direct result of rent-gouging beyond his control. Unfortunate for those with residual club memberships, but not the business owner/operator's fault being squeezed between a rock and a hard place, with no cash flow to pay out club members...

I'm more interested in the R18 Mk3 rifle, but this R9 PCC is admittedly intriguing as well. I look forward to examining a sample if the opportunity arises, and will decide from there. My interest lies in the 10.5" restricted model as opposed to the 18.5" NR PCC variant. We shall see in due course, but assuming it shoots straight and is reliable? I'm down for a shorty version!

$1600 seems fair for a PCC built to current SAI quality standards IMHO. These would easily cost $3K if manufactured domestically, so offshore manufacturing of the major components has kept the price reasonable. Although it may not be to everyone's liking, the price is really quite fair for what you are getting.

I get it you are defending your friend and I would as well. I am aware of the circumstances given for the bankruptcy as we (tse members) were all sent the same email.Yes we all have different views and I can appreciate that. My personal view is that I find it unrealistic that going bankrupt would make it too difficult to at least apologize.Maybe I interpreted your post differently than you intended. I apologize to the OP if this thread goes off the rails , my intention was only to share my thoughts. Not saying anyone shouldn’t buy it as we are all adults making our own decisions. Hope it’s fun!

It looks like the ejection location and pattern is far enough forward that other then lingering gas it won't be a big issue for leftys, mag release is ambi and it looks like the safety can be switched over to the other side.

The bolt is 1.2 pounds (16 oz)

Ghilbert, shutting down the Shooting Edge was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in my life and given my time in the army…. I’ve done some ####ty things ha. I do apologize to you and all the members for my lack of transparency and that you all were left with portions of your membership fees outstanding.

I guess the question is; if I had money for Sterling, why not pay members back.. well short answer; I didn’t have the money and to move Sterling on, I had to sell a bunch of it off. At the end of TSE, I could either make the employees whole or the members. I chose the employees. The rationale being that $200ish dollars to a member wouldn’t change their financial position, but stiffing the staff on their final pay and severance could and would have been life altering for a number of them.

While I do acknowledge that some people will disagree with me and hold this against me in perpetuity, I think most, understand and would probably have done the same.

But I am sorry to you and other how it played out.

JR

Yes, $1600 is chunky but our dollar is ####. My last wire in USD was at 1.48.

I would say the bulk of my parts around the world are mostly priced in USD.

Fair enough, I appreciate the apology to me and the others. From that perspective of us or the staff I would agree that they should come first and are a great bunch of guys and gals that I will miss!
Having not received any apologies formally up to now I hope you can understand the feeling that “we didn’t really matter enough to warrant one” kind of left some of us with a bad taste in our mouths, hence my snarky comment. You are correct that for most of us the financial aspect wasn’t that bad and for me personally it was more the principle of the situation that got me riled up. I am not normally a negative person but this one edged me over. Anyway thank you again for addressing this.

So who is going to be selling this?
The first dealers in line are Siwash in BC and Target Sports in Ontario along with a few others… we’re gearing up so that by end Feb we should be in a position to ship 200+ a month, so many more dealers will be added to the mix. In this batch, we also focused on ranges that wanted guns as they got hit hard with this OIC

Well done Ghillbert, I too am sorry for your financial loss. Money is tight these days......:(

I do look forward to seeing this 9mm carbine. And seeing the RMK18 when we can finally breathe a breath of fresher air.

Here's to better days in 2025 and bringing back our thoughts, our freedoms, and our firearms!.....:)

Will Sterling plan to be selling uppers separately? I wouldn’t mind having both 10/18” uppers to allow a little more versatility on where I can shoot it..
