Sterling Arms Intl 9mm PCC Sneak Peak

Maybe YOU weren't making things up, but it sure sounds like whoever you were talking to was. As in making it up as he went along, regarding BS Bullet and Barrel contact requirements....

The SAI R9 Barrel is just fine as a single 18.5" length of partially-rifled steel tube. The RCMP "Lab Rats" have much bigger issues to worry about these days, like their forthcoming early retirements under a Conservative Majority government!

Just as soon as I can confirm reliability and accuracy with the R9 being lent to me by SAI for Review, I will be buying one for my PCC collection. I am not at all concerned about any future Lieberal bans, all of which are pointless and subject to immediate cancellation by a Conservative government. I equate any future bans to accidentally stepping in a pile of dog-sh#t - it stinks and is annoying as Hell, but it hardly ruins my entire day. The Lieberals are toast and not even Carny can save their sinking electoral prospects...
Carbon Carny is another piece of $hit Liberal with no brains. If Canadians are fooled with this idiot who thinks he's a leader, well we are all doomed......:(

It sounds like President elect Trump will be following through with his tariffs on Canada. This is because there is no current government. Trudeau has abandoned all Canadians. He's another piece of garbage that the dopers and citiots voted in, time and time again.

Trudy knows that Canada as a whole will collapse with these new tariffs by July or August. Trudy will then blame Pierre Poilievre and the Conservative Party. Those same stupid Canadians will again vote in the tyrannical Liberals.

I am glad that people think we as Canadians will pull out of this $hit-storm that the Liberals have created. I do not see how, not with these tariffs being placed on Canada.

Blame all the stupid Liberal idiots that voted for the scum-bag in the first place.

I hope I am wrong, but where do we go if Canada as a whole completely collapses as a country? What happens to the Canada Pension Plan and all the current recipients? It sure doesn't look good......:(

And yes, I love the Sterling R18, and plan on getting one, if we still have a pension and a country........:(

Then what is the reason for this barrel configuration ... as you clearly know more about the design of the rifle than the people who designed and built it?

You have 2 options:

1) You might choose to believe that SA really came up with an amazing R&D and made a unique barrel design and have chosen a more expensive barrel configuration based on a pure merit. And no one in civilian or military firearm industry in the last 100 years thought it would be a good idea. All that for a very limited run of guns in a configuration very specific to Canada during time of questionable legality and potential bans and confiscation.

2) Or you might know that people behind SA are really flexible with things they claim to be true. And you might find out that this is a Tukish made AKDAS SA-9 with a long barrel. The problem is that SA-9 and its select fire model are both designed to be short compact smgs. Since it is an open bolt design, the main spring and weight of the bolt have to be specifically calibrated for the pressures and timings of a shorter barrels 6-12 inches.

you might want to to check the specs at
https://www.akdassilah.com/urunler/pistol/yari-otomatik-tabancalar/sa-9/

Going to a Canada legal barrel length for non restricted however would require a change to bolt weight and main spring which is too much money for R&D and extra cost to produce compared to already produced AKDAS parts. So in order to do that they had to drop the barrel pressure before they reach 18.6 and someone came up with this abomination. And if you look realistically at the slits on the barrel you might with some knowledge in firearms understand that these long and narrow openings are very bad as compensators or muzzle breaks. They only exist so they can drop pressure at the time timings the original open bolt was design for. In fact they could just do the first slit closer to the breach for the same effect, since most of the gas will bleed from it anyway, but it would look too awkward so they added second round of slits after that and made them go to the end of the barrel just for esthetics probably.

And SA will never admit that, because if they do, it means it is not only a variant of AKDAS SA-9 but also a variant of SSA-9 which is a full auto smg. Which means that all their PPC civilian registration is suddenly going under the shade of "variant of full auto smg".

I share your concern insofar as I believe we will see the 25% tarriffs applied in a week's time. There are numerous reasons for this, not the least of which is the leadership vacuum created by Trudope's untimely resignation announcement. That said, once an election occurs and a Conservative majority is elected, I believe that Pollievre will be able to eventually win a substantive tarrif reduction frrom Trump. Does Canada have sufficient economic runway to last long enough for all of that to occur if the Tarrifs are applied? That's the trillion dollar question....

In the unlikely event of a Canadian economic collapse, I foresee dark days indeed for those who are reliant upon government largesse for their living. That includes all public servants (including the Armed Forces and RCMP), Seniors, and the severely disabled. In other words, our society's most vulnerable are likely to be the hardest hit by the inevitable recession/depression that will follow the threatened Tarrifs. I reckon I can always sell guns and ammo to put food on the family table, but not everyone is so fortunate. Things could go pear-shaped and get ugly in a hurry. Once folks start experiencing empty store shelves and feeling real hunger, all semblance of civilized society goes out the window and it becomes every person for themselves. I would expect that were this to occur, we would have experienced the economic coercion that Trump was recently referring to as his preferred means of forcing a bi-national union of some sort. Presumably this is the point where the USA would step in to "save us" poor, economically-inept North American cousins with some form of a bail-out package (with unconditional "strings"). How that would play out is anyone's guess at this still-early stage of things....

Agreed.

A huge $hit-storm could be on the way......:(

We need to dump Trudy now, have an election, so Pierre Poilievre can meet with Trump and come to an agreement.

I just saw a press conference of Poilievre on You-Tube, with 13 Canadian flags behind him speaking of keeping Canada and Canadians safe.

Trudy would have had LGBTQ flags and rainbows all while Swifty dancing like the little f@ggot and pedophile he is.

Any news on the R9 rollout? Any of those boxed up rifles been shipped out to ranges or retailers yet?

Amen brother!.....:)

My wife and I were just talking about God and Christianity in general.

You are correct, we all better do some real soul searching. Many Christians and church going folks will also be left behind once the rapture happens.

I hope people do get right with God........:)

For left-handed shooters:

Ambi safety is a must. Not sure if the oem one is reversible - I seem to recall from the reviews that it is.
I didn't try installing it with the switch on the right side of the firearm; instead choosing to ditch the oem one for a Trigger tech short throw for around $50.

A nice-to-have would be a reversible charging handle, but current bolt manipulation as a southpaw isn't hindered in my view.

yep - mid to late 80's with the intro of the C7 for me.
While I'd agree flipping it off safety under most shooting circumstances with the left hand index finger (if that work anatomically for each individual), or coming off the pistol grip with the left hand and getting it with the thumb before re-acquiring a full grip isn't a big deal, under timed competition it matters.

For ~$50 and 5 or so minutes of installation time it is an easily rectified speed bump.

In the video they mentioned 10 round pistol marked magazines unless I missed something?

They didn't really get into it so I don't know why or how that works.... is there a pistol version of the MP5?

MP5 without a buttstock is classified as a pistol

The whole MP5 as a pistol is an American thing and has to do with their SBR law. For anything with a barrel less than 16" their options are to register the gun as an SBR (short barrel rifle) and pay the $200 tax or to maintain it as a pistol, which can take two different forms. Either forgo a butt stock completely or use a "pistol brace". The only tricky part about a carbine as a pistol that it cannot have a front grip (vertical grip) because pistols don't have front grips. This is all a quirk of US law that has absolutely nothing to do with CDN law other than that our law was badly written by people who don't understand guns.
