stevens 200 base/ mounts

Talley one piece light weights. Ken Farrel MOA bases with Farrel rings would be solid setup as well. I guess it really depends on what you plan to do with it and how much you willing to spend on the Stevens. Leaupold, Burris make pretty solid setup as well.

Here's the best solution I found for a 200 used for hunting or a varmint outfit.

B-Square one piece base with multiple slots for Weaver type rings. Light and strong, but most important, it allows any scope to be mounted, regardless of tube length.

I have been looking for these in Canada but haven't located one yet for my 270. Even in the US they are hard to find. I have settled for a couple Weaver 402s for now but would like to try the Bsquare. Did you get yours locally or online?

I have Talley Lightweights on my 200. The problem you can get into is that they (Savage LA including Stevens) is that the action length is longer than most makign scope mounting problematic. I ordered a 200 in 30-06 for my buddy for his anniversary (gift from his wife) along with Weaver rings and bases and a Leupold Rifleman. When I went to mount the scope it was too short to go into the rings. The problem solved itself with an extension ring but you must always measure your scope between the bell and power ring to make sure you'll have enough length. FWIW my 3-9x Burris Signature goes on with about 3/8" movement fore and aft in the Talleys.

Thats what I am delaing with right now. The scope that came with the gun was long so it worked with the 46 weaver bases but not my shorter Burris scope.
