This early model preceded the 1889 Stevens Favorite
with the Large Side Plate preceding the Stevens Model 44.

Wow, that's a beauty and while I'm not very familiar with the history of these I'm sure it must be quite rare, especially in that condition. As above, congratulations and thanks for sharing.

Very nice collection! I always wanted one in 22 rimfire but those for sale has always been beaters all messed up by time, use and bad storage...
 
I've always been drawn to the Favorites. I bought my first one, a .25, in 1970 and a .32 a decade later. Once in a while I dig out a couple of rounds from the stash and treat myself to a couple of shots.

Hey Waba , Fav's are great to shoot, I started collecting in ]
1970 as well just didn't know it at the time.
 
Stevens Favorite CCH

Early Stevens Rifles were known for the Tiger stripe
Colour Case Hardening (CCH).

This 1894 model 17 Stevens Fav. .32 rf has some
of the nicest Original CCH
that I've seen , wood is xlnt as well .
