Anyone see that Savage is selling Ithaca 37s under the Stevens brand....Nice...I always liked the 37s...These are 3'' capable, and interchangabe chokes...My brother has seen them in Wal-Mart in Florida for $299. I am getting one for sure.

Save your money, track down an older Ithica with choke tubes and save yourself some grief.

As a side note the triggers are AWFUL. Worst I have ever experienced on any firearm, literally like 20 lbs.

Made in China, repops, quality issues. Go real Ithaca or stay home.

Greetings,

I have a Stevens 350 Security (Ithaca M37 clone) with the ghost ring sights. Picked it up for $269 at Ellwood Epps and I couldn't be happier. Cylcles very smootly, ejects and feeds like a dream (I tested it when it first came home with some ratty old 2 5/8 paper hulls and it had no issues) and the trigger is perfect.

Had it at the range yesterday and with the 18" barrel and some cheapo Winchester field grade shells it kicked but with the nice butt pad it didn't hurt, just pushed against my shoulder.

No FTF, no FTE and it went bang everytime. Of all the shotguns I have had, this is easily one of the best bargains I have ever had. For what you get for under $300 (and Epps has the combo, 18.25" and 28" barrels for $287) I dare anyone to find a better deal used or new.

If you have never tried one, then I think you should.

Matt

What until it breaks, As for finding a better deal, a Used Ithica 37 inr reasonable condition is worth around 250$ and will out live you. Also no plastic to be found.

Well, like all consumers, I have top put my faith in the company. Stevens/Savage from all accounts has great customer service. I am also confident in the place I bought it from, Ellwood Epps has always been a go to store for me. And no matter what shotgun you buy, from the $75 single shot on the EE to handmade English guns that cost more than a house, they all break at one time or another.

As for the no plastic to be found, I forgot you hunting guys are allergic to plastic. It takes away from the mystique out of the blowing the crap out of some bird or deer when you use a plastic shotgun.

Well, it does sound like with the Stevens name on them they've improved the QC over the Norinco versions.

Now, that said, China is using the money the west is sending them to build a mighty military that will eventually crush us. I'm not buying anything from them unless I have no other choice, it's like paying the hangman to hang you.

if you think about this a real ithaca will cost you about a 1000$ for a new one with vent rib and chokes and thy do come in 3 inch now as well . you got to wonder how many corners thy cut to be able to sell the clones for less the 300$.I was out looking at a new ithaca deer slayer # in 20g last week and thy were just over 1200$ very nice slug gun but to rich for my blood DUTCH

I looked at these. Seems like a good deal. The main reason I didn't buy one was the worst recoiling shotgun I ever shot, for me, was a 37 featherweight. Beat me up bad with field loads.

Hope it fits you'all better than me.

7.6pounds + a new limb-saver would be pretty good if you ask me.

Okay, no screw in chokes and no vent rib, but it's three inch capable. This M87 Deerslayer Police Special II, from Sandusky manufacturing days.

For exactly 300 dollars, from our EE, plus shipping from Saskatchewan.
Also purchased an M37 20 Gauge Featherweight w/28 inch full choke barrel, circa 1971, for 250 plus shipping from a BC resident.
