Steyr .50 BMG

Now THAT'S what they need.

I disagree... The stock break is effective and I love the energy that it produces, it adds to the whole experience. Also being the shooter I didn't get any gas directly in my face nor did I get any debris thrown at me, I see no need to change the break, and I don't know why this even comes up. Like I said it doesn't effect the shooter if your fully concentrated and is super effective.... If your stupid enough to lay or stand right next to the shooter you deserve a blast of gas... :p If you keep a normal distance nobody around is effected..

Well lets just say we would NOT have spent the time to make better brakes if there was not a number of guys with HS50s that were NOT happy with the factory brake and its issues.
Several highly expereinced 50 cal shooters have asked us if a better brake design was available, NOW there is.:D

Adds to the Experience ??!!

How does Eating , grass, dirt, ants, cigarette butts and dust ADD to the experience?

First time firing the HS my buddy bought I thought i was gonna get a nose bleed, it felt like someone has squeezed an air nozzle under my nose.
I find it harder to concentrate on the target while I'm thinking oh, here it comes.
I have the PGW 50 and don't get any of that, its a totally different brake design (which everyone says is more accurate) that although not quite as effective at sucking up the recoil works very nice and doesn't punish the shooter.

Ric , PM me what info you have on the new brake, two of my buddy's have the HS 50's and one has asked me about the new brake. Send me a link or what ever you have on it please.

Mike.

They are the same as we use on our own 50s and look like this.

You still use the HS brake locking ring to index it to TDC
Cost is $350.00

Re: Hs50

I am working on a new chassis for the HS50 rifle. I would love to post it but my posts usually get deleted????????????? I need to know if I post it will it get deleted??
Here is a quick description. I have kept the barrel and bolt, trigger assembly (with modifications of course), grip/guard assembly and scope mount. I have made the main frame one piece with an angled fore grip allowing slide aiming off of a post, log, backpack, ECT... or with use on the bipod. A one piece bolt tube complete with (hopefully) a side set 5 round mag (opposite from the current eject window) and scope mount which will bolt to the barrel and bolt tube making the barrel more ridged to the bolt tube and frame. There will also be a heat shield above the barrel mostly for looks but it might keep the heat rays away from the scope picture. Oh yeah, there will also be an adjustable cheek rest (if needed) and adjustable shoulder pad. Lastly and of course an ALBERTA TACTICAL RIFLE brake only because a windshield did not fit on my modifications (had no room for the wipers).
I want to post the proposal so I may get feedback on the design in order to achieve the correct modifications the first time. Do it once and do it right.
Oh and for those of you who wonder why? And why an HS 50?
Lets just say: because, I have some time on my hands, I can, why not, its mine and the HS needs it!

Buddy Post the drawing. No clue why your posts got deleted, but I will repost the drawing for you if it does.
I looked at what you sent us and it looks good, so lets try and get this into production.:D

Re HS50

Here they are. It's not 100% complete because I need feedback but here is a good start. Now from what the program is stating it will add 1.5 pounds more to the current design but under load analysis it put everything in the green. Meaning the load has been distributed through out the whole design.

Oh wow Icepick nice exageration... A nose bleed? air nozzle? wow you puss..... I can honestly say I've never felt what your referring to... Like I said earlier, I've shot on the ground laying down on a drag bag and never had grass or dirt flying up at my face....It did blow a bit of grass up around me, but not at me. When I feel the energy it gives off around me it does add to the experience. It sounds and feels awsome... So stop running your mouth, cuz its not as bad as you claim it to be. we dont need your BS exagerations...

Don't do it man! it's a girlie gun!....Just kidding this is Me below shooting one We ordered in for a Fellow Gunnut:) They are cool!

HOLY CRAP!!! that muzzle brake BLEW the scope clean off of the rifle!!

A tame 50 is 1 that a 12 year old can shoot, or more accurately shoot the bore out of in 1 day in a particularly good field of gophers .:50cal:
