Not to highjack the thread but it looks like some CGN members are looking for Steyr Mannlicher SSG69 rifles. Fine, because I am looking too. In fact, I have been waiting for quite a while to buy a new SSG P11 rifle. Reason : none available. Can a dealer order one from the - only - distributor in Canada ? Answer : maybe. Is the - only - distributor willing to order one from the Company ? That, I don't know.
During the last ten months, I have contacted three dealers to get that rifle. One wasn't obviously interested and the other two are still working on it. In all honesty, I must say that I have not put any pressure on them. Do we have to pester them, really ?
I will skip the details.
Back to the topic. More than twenty years ago, I have watched #### de Jong (Canadian Pistol Institute, New Brunswick) put a bunch of bullets inside six inches at six hundred yards (Gagetown) with a Steyr SSG69 - and with a fixed power Austrian scope, 6X or 8X, IIRC. It was the first time I was meeting a Steyr SSG69. Did not forget it, no. That rifle is only a "factory rifle", after all.
BTW, I would like to know, from all the Steyr SSG69 lovers out there, what scope they would choose for that specific rifle (brand, magnification, fixed power or variable, reticule, etc). Caliber .308 Winchester, of course.
Voilà !
