StG 44

I would dearly LOVE to own one of these ........but I don't think I can justify the price --I'm not saying they're not worth it ,I'm just too scotch

Well, it's not that critical that you buy them now. Barring some unforseen circumstances (throwback to Seinfeld), they're never going to get more expensive.

If anything, they'll get cheaper as more and more machine shops will start reproducing them and the competition will get higher. More supply to (approximately) the same demand.

At least, that's what I'll hope will happen.

And a Semi FG42 is on it's way too!
I shudder to think how much that will cost.

I'm kind of cautious about putting down that much money for one of these because I remember when the vz.58s came in I was so excited about it but then when I got one, at the end of the day it wasn't much better than an SKS when it came to shooting it at the range. Much cooler looking though.

Doesn't mean I don't want one of these new toys though. While I prefer the looks of the BD-44, I think the BD-38 would probably provide the most unique shooting experience of the three firearms.

Maybe it's your shooting and not the vz58 rifle!!! :bsFlag:

I wasn't talking about the accuracy, I meant the overall shooting experience. At the end of the day it was just another semi-auto 7.62x39 rifle with a 5-round magazine and a nicer trigger. It's not Marstar's fault. It's the stupid rules we (and they) have to play by. If we could fill the magazines with 30 rounds and get happy at the range, it would be different.

That's why I was saying that the BD-38 would probably be more interesting at the range for me. I have 4 SKSes but no 9mm carbines yet. The BD-44 would be just another 5-round semi-auto rifle in addition to the stacks of other 5-round semi-auto rifles I have.

I would love to buy one or BD-38 but at that price no way! As nice as it would be what is the good of a 5 shot semi-auto submachine gun? Hell I can spit ten out of my pistol!! It makes it hard to justify that kind of money.

It really is hard to justify. At those prices you have a lot of different high quality firearms you can look at. Not ragging on Marstars choice to bring them in at all, as i'm sure 90% of us here would love to eventually own one! With any luck the company who makes these will lower their prices in the future to a more obtainable one.

Id love to get one and those are the prices I expected. They are made in Germany and im sure they are excellent quality, but that quality comes with a price. You can't exactly buy a Mercedes for the price of a chevy can you? Heck, the shaving cream I use costs $12.00 for a tiny little can...because it's made in Germany, and im willing to pay for quality.

Prices are bang on for a small production run.

For the guys complaining on prices:

You could almost buy a $3500 (...still $500 short) M203 Grenade Launcher that fires retreavable Rubber Dildos...but hey, you guys would still complain.

You guys would really spend that much on a M203 Dildo Launcher for you AR15???

A hint at the cost, even ballpark, would allow more people to budget and save. Now, probably 9/10 guys are saying: "Cannadoo-it." As for me, now I have to wait....and save.

Hey, he's got the pricing up two weeks before the rifles arrive...I was expecting prices to be in the $4K range, so I'm pleasantly surprised. However, facing bills due to going to France/Vimy. I'm in the can't do it right yet group, but I'd love to have one. Convincing the wife that I need to spend the money on this instead of paying off the Visa/Line of Credit? Hard to do.

The prices in euro are published on the SSD website.
The conversion will give you a very good ballpark, and as a plesant surprise, the Marstar prices are less than the raw conversion.
