StG 44

Johnone,

With the BD44 and BD43/1, is the ZF 4 side "Rail" an option that bolts on or is it already included on the rifle(s)? And is it available on the BD42(H)?

Will it slide on to the rails with an original G43 ZF 4 mount?

Will all 3 models work with the top of rear sight mount with a ZF 41 scope?

Any word on the FG42 when it is available?

Thanks.

no place to hold it on with bolts. originals were spot welded. and this "Will all 3 models work with the top of rear sight mount with a ZF 41 scope?" doesn't make sence to me.

Should make sense now BGL. I have seen repro mounts for the MP43/1 zf 41 rig for sale.

G43 Rail:

MP44 scopes
Two different scopes and mounts were tested for the MP44 series of guns but none of these were actually produced because these guns had a shot dispersion which was so great that they couldn't replace the G43 as a sniper rifle:
MKb42, MP43/1: Had integral scope mounting rails at each side of the rear sight. A scope mount like the mount on a G41 was intended for use but was never produced. A prototype MKb42 is seen with a ZF41 - see below. See also a MP43/1 with integral scope mount (with a notch - the later models didn't have this notch)
From Claus site.

Are you steeling pictures from clause's site. MP44 doesn't have the scope rails on the rear site in any of the BD pictures, besides that would be wrong for the rifle. My MP43/1 does not have this rail or even an MP43/1 bbl. the only way to tell it is a MP43/1 is the fact that that is the name stamped on the receiver. I understand that they are making the G43 style rail, and quite a few rifles were made with this rail on it. The original idea for the optics on the rifle were the same as issuing every soldier with a scope today, and not for sniper use. I am more interested in seeing what the MKb bbl looks like under the handguard as the MKb had a uniquely heavier bbl than the prototypes and anything that followed, and there are suspected theories that go along with this.

I posted those pics for your Benefit BGL as it made no sense to you. Hopefully it does now. Seeing is believing!
Those 3 pics show what I am asking for about the BD made rifles.

I think I'll wait for the answer till Johnone chimes in as were talking the new made BD44, BD43/1, BD42(H), not your MP43 or 44rifle.
They do list a ZF 4 repro for the BD44.

BGL - what ever happened to the homemade semi auto MP44 project that you were working on and wanted to sell and market, I recall you posting pics of various parts you made, did you ever finish it or too much work and cost? BATF? Just haven't heard or saw anything about it from your postings? I'll bet the stamping tooling would have been "out of this world" for cost.

that is fg42. look around
Go or no-go project? Look at the bright side, you can buy one soon, instead on spending mega bucks on tooling, equipment and patent lawyers.

But if you look, only the BD44 doesn't have the rails or rib for the zf 41 mount. (BD43/1 and BD42(H) has rails).
I had answered this earlier. stg/mp44 does not have the rails. look for the G43 rail. The Mkb rail is not very good but is nice for the collectors. If you really want the rails get the 43/1. Don't forget you can't use the safety on the MKb if you should put a G43 scope rail on.

Yes it has arrived, but it has the short mag, so I don't really feel like taking any pics of it...... looks kind of funny with that puny mag on it. :( I've been toying with the idea of parkerizing it.... but that may be a lot of work.
