StG 44

If they make one it should be in the origional Kurz round. Get the true real STG experience or go home.
If it's not a WWII original rifle, there's not much point in chambering it in 7.92 Kurz unless someone starts making cheap ammo for it.

How much are you willing to give up from the STG to feel it worthy of owning? I see people taking VZ's to make AK's, I see people taking SKS's to make AK's. Where do we draw the line? Stop trying to turn #### into AK47's and start to enjoy what you have before even that is gone.

Like having the gun feed X39 will solve ammunition problems. #### all we get is Czech ammo, nobody bothers to bring in anything else. Suddenly the dealers got a deal on Czech and they stopped bringing in Norinco. What did you think that just happened by itself? What will happend when that dries up? Its not like our dealers are out there fighting to get us cheaper more premium ammo. There just selling us whatever they can find the cheapest, and when that runs out they will just go to the next cheap leftovers.

How hard would it be to get somebody to make 7.92x33mm ammo, its just down sized 8mm Mauser ,right?the EAST GERMANS were still making this ammo 7.92 kurz in the 60's.their "workers militias" were still using some StG-44 .
And look at all the old calibers their bring back for cowboy action shooting.

Most mp44's and thier ammo ended up in Africa youd see guys running around with just about EVERYTHING from anytime about the only thing i did not see was a muzzel loader

last i heard syria had lots of 8mm kurtz......dont know why

I bet it'd be quite straightforward for someone with the money to go over to Africa and buy a STG44, get all the dimensions, maybe dewat it cleanly, and then bring it back. Not sure if it'd be worth the effort though. I can't imagine people paying over $2000 a pop for an obsolete firearm.

A lot of work considering there are already some in the country that aren't dewatted.

I 2ed the 7.62, non-restricted STG44. Although I'd much rather one in it's true form, the fact is the ammo just isn't avaible. And no offence to the "purests", but we have stupid gun laws and if I was going to dish out the cash for a rifle, I'd want to use it the way I want (ie, a Caribou blaster and gravel pit queen), not just as a range puppy. In any case, I'll keep dreaming either way but I'm am very surprised no one has made a copy of these yet for the civilian market SOMEWHERE.

The point is that if I'm going to be buying a reproduction rifle and not an original, I want something that I can take to the range because it's not really worthy of being a safe queen like a real stg44. 7.92 Kurz to 7.62x39 isn't that much of a stretch as far as keeping close to a real stg44 while making it more practical to own.

As long as the AK-47 is the most popular firearm in the world, there will still be lots of 7.62x39 around, or at least a hell of a lot more than 7.92 Kurz.

Then why are you buying a STG in the first place? The gun your looking for is called the CZ 858.

I didn't think this would erupt such a discussion. the Main thing I want is to provide a rifle that abides buy our bogus laws and fires a Caliber easy to procure (7.62x39) Along the lines of keeping the Looks of the original StG Maybe a few minor improvements. say for metal quality and fit and finish.

Maybe, just maybe We can make both, a complete True to spec StG 44 and a Newer modern version It will be titled "StG 445" for 2005

And If we're going to be making both types, We'll make the ammo as well. Some nice Clean Fresh non-corrosive ammo. Special discount when you buy a rifle and 50% off for 5 years.

I can't see any manufacturer reproducing this rifle. The specialist machinery needed for the sheet metal work alone would cost a fortune. It would be cheaper to buy the real thing.
I had one of these ( MP 43) in the UK until they banned all automatic rifles larger that .22. I would most certainly like another one, but I somehow doubt that will ever happen.

Prvi Partizan currently makes new, non-corrosive, brass-cased 7.92 Kurz. (This is a Serbian company). Not sure if there is a Canadian importer. There is a UK importer but obviously he doesn't import that ammo as there is zero demand for it.

OK, I will exchange the wife for the financing. I'll need some cash too.
