Can someone with access to either an STG44 or BD44 pls check something for me?
I have acquired a BD44 reproduction of an MP44/STG44, but it is missing the highlighted pin from the trigger group:

Can someone pls check their gun and let me know what this pin is supposed to do? On my example, the trigger group seems to work just fine despite this pin not being in place, so I'm assuming it retains something to do with the F/A firing mechanism (maybe retains an auto-sear or similar). When manufactured, this SSD gun did have a pin there (holes remain) but it must have fallen out somewhere along the way.
I need to know if I am OK to just fab up a cosmetic pin and press it in place, or if it is supposed to retain something that actually has a legitimate function in the semi-auto version of the fire control group.
Maybe someone with a BD44 that has this pin can tell me if anything is mounted to it, or if SSD just added it for cosmetic reasons because real STG44's had a pin there.
Thanks!
