STI discontinuing all 1911 models ?

My Range Master was back from the gunsmith this afternoon.
Bought new in april 2017.
I had the dust cover cut to classic division length and the pistol reblued since the original STI blue is far from what is expected from such a respected manufacturer.
Barrel, all controls and mag well polished and left in the white.
Sweet.....a keeper.

I did the same to my rangemaster, except I had it tri-topped, milled out a bit in the sides for the salient arms look (not milled through the slide) and hard-chromed and it is a sweet pistol.

Anyone think our ss sti's will go up in value?

Good afternoon Horse96,
I did not dare to have the pistol hard chromed (and I don't know who would do it in Qc).
I previously had the pistol cerakoted and was less than satisfied with the result.
I suspect the process was not applied correctly since it has been stripped VERY easily.
I believe these pistol will keep a certain value, for when I browse the EE, Trojan, Spartan ....are selling in the high range.
That does not mean they will sell; I have always sold my items at a price that made both parties happy.
I'll try to post a photo of my pistol....trial tomorrow with new loads.

I shot mine for a year in the blue. It wore in nicely. Roger, in ON, did an awesome job on the HC. It runs so slick, like it's on ball bearings.

Good evening Horse,
Here is a photo.
Dan, sorry to tell you but - if you're planning to run that gun in IPSC Classic division, you're missing a stirrup cut on the slide.

Appendix D3, Section 16: "Handguns must be based on and visibly resemble the profile and contours of the classic 1911-genre design. This means a single-stack, one piece metal frame, slide with stirrup cuts, and a dust cover (with or without an accessory rail) which has a maximum length of 75 mm when measured from the leading edge of the dust cover to the rear of the slide stop pin."

I doubt that very highly.

I do know for a fact that SV is all about putting only products they make in house (including springs) in their guns. It helps them ensure high quality and delivery.

STI was exporting Schumann through their distributor network up until about 5 years ago (what a nightmare) - and I can tell you for sure that the old rivalry between STI and SVI - especially then, when Skinner still owned STI
- would have kept STI from doing it if Schumann was still partnering in any way with SVI.

will you guys ever bring in schumann barrels? does anyone else bring in these barrels from the u.s?
