I got my GP6 from Freedom ventures yesterday. So far the gun seems good. Fit and finish are nice, and also the grease it came in wasn't super filthy and hard to clean off.
The bbl is nice and fat, the D/A trigger pull is long, but very smooth. The S/A is fairly short, also very light and smooth. The inside of the slide is very smooth and well machined. The Rotating barrel is very nice, moves smoothly, and locks tight
I posted a pic of the mag hole. You can appearantly cut the same hole in a CZ magazine and it will work, according to a post by the designer about a year ago.
*Update* I let some gun oil sit on on the mag catch related part for a good 20 minutes and that helped a bit. I was doing this on empty mags. I noticed the follower was hitting the slide stop sometimes on an empty mag and causing it not to fully seat all the time. I loaded up the mags (they were dummy rounds and the slide was off, I did that just for all you safety nazis out there) and the mags seat fine everytime now. I did 40 mag inserts and releases using both the left and right side of the mag release button. So everything with it works fine.
One thing I have a problem with now is the mag release. It gets stuck on about 1 or 2 out of every 10 or so presses. What happens is the mag will come out no problem, but the next time I insert it, it will not always "click" into place.
until I re-seat it, or press the button and re-seat it. I have field stripped and cleaned the pistol, also I have sprayed oil onto the magazine catch and springs. I have tried spraying oil on both sides of the mag release button and working both sides of it (all controls are ambi).
Field stripping is a little weird the first time, but after that it is very easy and very quick. I find the controls easy to operate and reach as well.
Overall I am very interested in getting this to the range. Is is a very smooth and robust pistol. Feels great in the hand too.
Here are the pics. (the orange crap on the inside of the slide is grease. I cleaned the gun after these pics).
