STI used to be great guns at reasonable prices but they became great guns at really high prices. The Trojan, for example, was an excellent deal when it was around $1400 but not as much now at $2200.
I bought my Trojan for 1200, bought 4 edges 40SW for around 1850 plus taxes between 2009 to 2012. The spartan line used to sell for 600/700 out of EE.
People can ask anything they want but to find someone to pay what they want is a different thing.

Just wondering if staccato would still honor the sti warranty
It's a sad day when this happens I will hold on to my two 1911's though great gunsSTI caught my eye some years ago with their Trojan model. I bought one and was hooked, I really wanted their Premier in 9mm but it didn't happen for me. I have one of their 2011s and it is a great gun but I am more a fan of the proper 1911 single stack classic. As STI abandoned the 1911 platform and took up the race gun thing I was disappointed. Obviously they are trying hard to find a market that is profitable for them, it just won't include me anymore it seems. Too bad, but it was fun while it lasted!
I guess no one as they were partially built outside of the U.S. and just finished off in the statesI picked up a Spartan off the EE for about that in 2010. Very nice pistol. Who's making a similar product now in that same price/quality range?
