STI Spartan.... resale value?

Can you guys tell me if the Spartan grip safety is flush with the frame on each side when the grip safety is depressed? On my Norc, the frame juts out on each side of the grip safety when it's depressed.... in other words, the grip safety will push in PAST flush, going too far into the frame. The past few Norcs I have owned have had this problem. It's sharp and gets painful, and will be expensive to have an aftermarket grip safety fitted.

I am trying to build a case for getting the Spartan

Trying to calculate how much the Norc will cost in the long run after I add everything I want (new sights, properly fitted beavertail, Armco tuning, non-extended slide stop, etc).

Were the frame of the Spartan forged and not cast, I would have bought it already. But I am just trying to wrap my head around paying 2x the cost of the forged frame Norinco, for a cast frame Spartan.... even thought it will likely last forever, and has a lifetime service policy, which is awesome...

It isnt flush, but its not sharp either, and as you might be able to see in my picture or msg.drew's pictures, the grip safety is pinned into place.

I have only ever read that the 5100 steel that the Chinese use in the 1911's is significantly harder than 4100 that is used here in north America. Have never read anything that would even lean slightly toward the reverse.

Mine when the grip saftey is depressed it still remains above the level of the frame so you should not get sore hands.

Norc 1911's are forged from tool steel (as noted 5100) - really quite remarkable stuff for the price.

what i'm saying is that I received my spartan with the grip safety pinned into place. having it pinned, I don't even realize it's there
