They're all worth around 1200 !
They,re all 1911 !
They're all 9mm !

Now, which one is better ? All I want is a good gun for target practice, no IPSC for me. Just paper punching.

Any thoughts ?

I have the Kimber and it is great. I use it for IPSC and IPDA when I want to shoot Standard Minor. Fun pistol and extremely accurate.

I also have a KImber 45 and a STI Edge in 40.

I am sure you will love either of them.

I'd buy the Trojan, because the trigger is just that much better.

I have a Trojan (.45 ACP) and two Kimber Stainless Target IIs (1 x .45 ACP and 1 x .38 Super). They're essentially the same in terms of quality, features, etc. Can't comment on the Springfield......

I have had the Kimber and didnt like it.Too many problems right out of the box.For that kind of coin it didnt perform as well as I hoped.
I then bought a STI Trojan.I love this gun.Great right out of the box.Smooth trigger and accurate.Unfortuneatly this one will be up for sale and only because I have on Order a STI Ranger II in 9mm.
I would go with the STI.

I bought a Springfield Loaded in Stainless and when I got it home I took the grips off and the only thing it was loaded in was rust! I took it back. Too bad so sad as I liked the look of it. I have a Kimber Grand Rapter Ultra II and it rocks! sweet looking gun and very accurate.

Sorry, you'll have to wait to sell your Kidney - at least until I've sold mine for a P7M8 :D
Nice piece of enginering ian in vic,

Now I feel bad for you ! I'll take your kidney !

I've never shot a Kimber,so can,t comment on that one.
I owned a SA Loaded in .40. Nice gun.
I have an STI Trojan in .40.
Very nice gun.Quality parts,great sights,accurate,reliable.
You can lighten the trigger pull without replacing parts.
My pick of the three would be STI Trojan.
In .40 it's a pussycat,in 9mm I bet it would be very mild shooting.

I had a Kimber Custom TLE II, very tight gun and a quality build. I had issues feeding it anything but ball-nose ammo... however its new owner reports that it shoots problem-free so it very likely just needed a few hundred more rounds to break in and loosen up.

I also got to shoot an STI Ranger II in .45 the other night and that thing kicked ass. Awesome trigger, very smooth slide, and I could see my reflection clearly on the feed ramp. It was also incredibly tame for a commander length .45, which was quite a surprise. Im sold, next 1911 is definitely an STI.

God,

That's a lot of votes for STI. I thought Springfields would have had a couple of votes, since they're more classical in their interpretation of the 1911 design.

If you want Springfield watch the Simpsons, if you want a gun buy an STI

I wanna thank everyone for their time and 2 cents on my question.

Gun ownership in Canada may not be an easy affair but we sure our a proud and knowledgeable gang ! (Boy, I should run at the next election !)

Thanks!

What feels the best is most important. Otherwise, I would rank best to worst - STI, Kimber then Springfield. STI and Kimber are close, Springfield is not.

STI Trojan all the way. I have one in 40 and adore it. Wild West in Edmonton has a Ranger 11 that i may buy for $1295 new. I don't know it that's a deal or not.
