It is sticky the full stroke of the bolt.Is there a scope on teh rifle. If so, your base screws might be too long.
Otherwise, you should check the inside of the action where the bolt "slides" along.....might be a nick in the metal. Does the bolt stick at a certain point or is the tightness all thru the full stroke of the bolt thru the action?
can you sell guns on this site
The action in one of my guns(Savage) is stiff. Is this a problem that can be rectified? The bolt moves a tad stiff.
check your scope base screws, as well as the forward action screw. One or the other may be protruding through the reciever and touching the bolt head. I found this to be a problem when i switched stocks on my stevens. The new stock was countersunk too far on the front action screw, so my bolt would not close when i re-inserted it because the screw was a couple threads into the action. A quick trim of the screw and all is well.
