I use a triple K XL 20 gauge shell belt https://www.triplek.com/product/70-shot-shell-belt/ I wear it bandoleer style. Hope it never fits my waist.lol They do offer a bandoleer now for 50 shells, but that's like carrying another gun. Triple K's quality is second to none.

I even made a try at a cheek riser/stripper clip holder for an SKS I had...turned out ok for a first run.
I generally built test runs out of split leather or garment leather from old jackets to get the pattern/fit right first. I came up with a really good "no sew" design that I use exclusively now and works really good on tapered cartridges. All you need for tools is a box cutter, metal ruler, chisel and a punch.

Same same. I use one on most of my shotguns but the only rifle I ever used one on was one of my .22s. The elastic loosened up over the years and I never bothered replacing it.
Leather shell holders work, the fabric-elastic ones don't. The leather is stiff and stickier, and holds the shells in place. The fabric-elastic ones don't have enough tension (especially in the cold), and are "slippery".
A good leather shell holder, it's stiff and somewhat cumbersome to both insert, and withdraw, the shells. And that's as it should be. It's a convenient place to hold a few extra shells, but I'm not in The 'Nam (or whatever), where I have to speed load. I'm wandering around in the bush or prairie, enjoying a day in the sun, where everything, including reloading my rifle, is a slow and deliberate thing.

I use 2 fold out wallets on my belt. They each carry 14. I use a stretchy type on the stocks of synthetic rifles. 2506 and 300wm. They hold 9. I also use one on my double rifle. I also keep more rounds in my pack or pockets. The stock mounted ones allow me to know exactly how many rounds i have in the gun. I load from them and when i unload it gets refilled. Theyre there to get at easy after i shoot and can replace them as time presents its self. The only time ive come close to loosing a round was from strapping my rifle into the Y gun mounts on my atv thru rough country. The Y mount massaged a couple rounds upwards
