Hi folks, I need some clarification.
The stock Ruger 10/22 scope mount, is it or is it not "Weaver"?
I have recently purchased some accessories that claim they are "Weaver" but do not fit the stock scope mount.
After doing some research, I have found that slot width is as follows:
Picatinny = 0.20 inch
Weaver = 0.18 inch
Thing is the width of the slots on my so-called Weaver mount is 0.15 inch.
The cross bolt on the accessories is 0.17 inch, yet the weaver scope rings have are mounted to my 10/22 are .14 inch. WTH?
At this point I'm really confused and could use some higher knowledge on this.
Thanks in advance...
Answered (phone call to Weaver) - True Weaver slots are about 0.15" wide, with 0.138" crossbars. This other "Weaver-style" that is often listed is somekind of BS neo-picatinny mount that really has nothing to do with Weaver. The Ruger 10/22 comes with a true Weaver mount.
