Hi guys -

I've been looking for a compact o/u that I can use as a camp gun as well as to shoot clays (backyard stuff for fun - not competition) - think this is a good choice?

Looks pretty handy. The stoeger shotguns I've handle seem to be well made, a little in the heavy side though... 20" barrels would make up for that.

Uh oh... They make a nickel version! Hide my wallet!

Thanks guys - I'm on it - I'll email Stoeger Canada & see what I can find. As soon as I get my hands on one - I'll post pics & opinions.

Cheers!

A double that comes with rifle sights this is nice to see, you are going to have to look to an all out 12bore rifle to see that ($5000 min)

I don't know how well it is regulated but you could use different chokes to try to change the regulation.

If I see one I am going to buy it.

HOLY CRAP!! That's a cool freakin' gun!! Grouse beware, I just found my latest toy! Did we actually find out who has them in stock? I don't need nickel though, blue is just fine for me.

I emailed Stoeger canada & they said Wholesale & SIR carry them.
Also - here in quebec a local retailer Le Baron.

I've emailed SIR & as yet no response - I'll keep you posted.

I wouldnt recommend buying anything from stoeger, which includes beretta. They will get the gun out fast, but if you have a problem dont worry about shooting your new gun for a long time.. warranty service is lousy and parts take forever..

so far no luck -
negative results from local guns stores (told that they are not available)
no answer to my email request to Paradise outdoor Gear (Stoeger Canada listed them along with Wholesale as on line dealers)

Does Stoeger do alot of business in Canada?

Got response from Wolverine on this - can special order for $435.00 plus tax, S&H.

Figure looking at around $500.00 all in -

Can pick up a Mossberg 500 combo barrel Field (28" with screw in chokes)/Security (18.5") for $300.00 plus tax S&H.

Is it worth the extra cost compared to the pump - or am I trying to compare apples & oranges?

A camp gun & backyard clays for fun.

In that respect, both would work well I believe - like I said, this is probably apples & oranges, so it may boil down to cost. And the 2 barrel combo means that the mossy may actually be better at both, for less $$$.

My only experience is that I contacted them about getting a replacement recoil spring for my 2000 semi auto. I had it in my hands in 2 days and they didn't charge me 1 cent. I can't complain.

I also have the stoeger 20" barrell coach gun and I have shot skeet with it and it did quite well.
