always good arguements over stopping power?

what kind of stopping power do you guys think a cap and ball .44 had? or how about some other blackpowder single shot pistol? did any of those old single shots shoot really big hunks of lead?

Grab Sanow and Marshalls latest stopping power book. They have stats and gelitin tests for both calibers in minnie ball and round ball. The .44 round balls do quite well, the rest, well, you still wouldn't want to be infront of one, but not as well...a good read anyways, and I'd recomend the whole series wholeheartedly.

Yes, it isn't a perfect study but it is a fun read.

I read six guns by Keith (yes I can reeeed ) and he was very impressed with the accuracy and stopping power of the .44 cap and ball. Ball being the keyword.
