always good arguements over stopping power?

what kind of stopping power do you guys think a cap and ball .44 had? or how about some other blackpowder single shot pistol? did any of those old single shots shoot really big hunks of lead?

I know this guy who hunted with this guy, who's sister's best friend's brother, killed a grizzly with one shot from his .22 lr survival gun.

Grab Sanow and Marshalls latest stopping power book. They have stats and gelitin tests for both calibers in minnie ball and round ball. The .44 round balls do quite well, the rest, well, you still wouldn't want to be infront of one, but not as well...a good read anyways, and I'd recomend the whole series wholeheartedly.

does the book have the walker or dragoon loading, that is a 50-60 grain charge of powder? :D

bet that would settle someone's hash right quick!
