Storage of clay shooting guns

Just wondering if the shooters who have the fancy fitted case for there break action shot guns leave them locked up in there cases or put them together and into a safe to "breathe"

Mine where all bought 2nd hand and the cases are just plastic ones with the foam cut to hold everything from moving around.

Citori 725 Trap with PFS and custom comb.
No factory case, and ended up in an SKB Hybrid Takedown Case (lined with black ‘fuzz’). Separate slots for barrel, receiver/PFS, forearm.
Gun stays in this case, even in the off season. Chokes removed.

If gun (and case) are damp, case stays open for a day or two at home. Gun is partially disassembled, sprayed with Ballistol and sensibly blasted with compressed air and left out of the case.

If I think the trigger mech is wet, the stock comes off too.

EDIT: Being my only Trap gun, it is handled pretty much all year long (dry practice in the off season) so is always handled/examined.

I take it very easy, I store all my skeet shotguns in gun socks and put them in gun cabinet.

I have all sorts of takedown bags but it's easier to bring them to the range in gun socks, shoot then give it a coat of ballistol and store them back in gun socks.

I have 3 high end trap guns, a Krieghoff KX6 special, a Perazzi MX14 combo and a Caesar Guirini summit trap, I clean them at the end of each day's shoot and store them broken down in the cases, never had a spot of rust on any of them, my guns never go to bed dirty I'm anal about that
Which one do you find yourself using the most? That’s quite the lineup

I use the KX6 special for singles and handicap and the CG summit trap for doubles, haven't used the Perazzi MX14 this year and it's currently for sale. I bought it a couple years ago and shot it for everything for 1 season, thought maybe I would shoot it better than what I had, you know trap shooters are always looking for the next better gun :D anyway I didn't shoot it any better and I really like my KX6 and CG so the Perazzi has to find a new home.

I’ve started shooting sporting clays twice a week and got a membership at the local club. I am currently using my beretta a400 xtreme plus but if I know me I’m going to spend way too much money and buy an over under that’ll last me the rest of my life (I’m 24 but I climb ropes for a living and spend a lot of time and money making vehicles fast (cars, motorcycle, woods buggy’s etc…) so we’ll see how long that’ll last😂) but I’ve been looking into the cg’s, rizzinis and possibly a beretta.

As far as cleaning goes, I run a bore snake down each bore after a spray of G-96 Gun Treatment, and wipe down all exterior surfaces. I spray a bit of G-96 into the interior of each case, and that creates a rust preventing vapor in each case.

Anyone try a gun sock with a wee bit of G96 sprayed on the inside before going to the safe. Soft kisses.

As an aside, I brought some socked guns to Karl the retired Swiss guy many years ago.

He looked at the socks and some dumb ass asked if they would fit his wife? Dear Rita was in the next room, and was actually amused.

I'm using Ballistol instead of G96 because of wood stock, I spray a bit then use the microfiber clothes to spread it around then put in a gun sock and off to the safe.

G 96 is my goto oil of choice for all my firearms. Awesome stuff...creeps so good !
Still use Ed's Red, Break Free and a few others when the need arises, but my good ol G96 goes where I go when shooting inter-provincially !
