Story on FTE and FTF on new Glock Gen 4?

Yeah I think so.

I have a TLR-1 on my Gen 3 9mm. No problems so far (luckily the serial number indicates it was manufactured before they changed things), so I'm optimistic it will be reliable. I have 600 rounds through it in the past two months. I shoot about 250 rounds a month so it will be well over a year before I get enough rounds through it for me to call it reliable.

So beside hear-sakes NO CGNers have reported problems.

Only speculations/insinuations problems will manifest after firing more rounds than CGNer typically fire.

Sound like the only way to avoid GEN4 problems is to just enjoy the pistol whilst keeping this secret problem in the closet.

Hey, if the goal is to own pistols that work great while not being fired, there are any number of guns that will equal a gen 3 9mm glock.

I would definitely agree that if you don't really intend to shoot it, there is absolutely no reason to think a gen 4 is going to be any worse than a gen 3.

So if I have misunderstood the OP and the question is, "are the Gen 3s up to the standards of the average CGner who won't shoot it a lot?" then hell yes, they always were, as was basically every mainstream handgun of the last hundred years.

If the question was intended to be "has Glock arrived at a solution for the problems they have openly acknowleged with the Gen 4 pistols?" then I am not sure that is the case.

I have nearly 5000 through my Gen 4 that I bought in mid 2011. I haven't checked the recoil spring, but then again haven't had to.

It has eaten everything I have thrown at it from 115 MFS to S&B etc.

I had some light strikes happening at one point, but only because I mucked around with the trigger group. Putting the stock firing pin spring back in sorted it out.

From my admittedly selfish perspective, the best thing about you switching to the Glock from the HK is that the Glock won't eject the brass hard enough to render me unconscious, unlike the HK. I'm betting the other guys are onside with me about that too :p

Bwahaha!:D I felt bad for you guys after I saw the video! I didn't realize how vigorously it ejected that MFS ammo. I should have shot on the end of the line each time I guess!

SO NO real life experience with GEN4 problems from CGNers. Evidence speaks for itself.

As Misanthropist pointed out, the vast majority of CGN Gen 4 owners probably don't put 200 rounds a year through their Glocks. That's not a bad thing, but it does mean that your test pool is extremely limited.

Did you check out the link I posted earlier in this thread? Did you even take two seconds and do a quick Google search? You can choose to ignore the numerous reports of problems if you want, but that doesn't mean the problems don't exist.

Of course there will be numerous reports of problems for all popular firearm. I did spend four seconds to search, VAST majority are positive NO problems. You need to be more specific in your link.

Reports of imminent Zombie Apocalyptic also abounds on the net that the vast majority choose to ignore.

You need to be more specific in your link.

You mean this link (take the space out of the http)?

It takes you to a link titled "Glock Extractor Issues Gen 4 - Gen 3"?

It contains has over 50 pages of posts complaining about problems with the Gen 4. A lot of posts by very respected members of the U.S. shooting community. Guys who shoot thousands of rounds per month and are plugged in directly to the industry. I don't know how much more specific you need?

not likely at all 200 rds per range trip maybe.

I did go through the last two pages (p60 & 61) to find a couple of complaints about used Gen4, several on Gen3 and several NO problems.

As already noted there were problems with v1 that appears corrected with free spring replacement

I put several pounds of titegroup through my Gen4s luckily no problem.
