Hey folks
We are gauging interest in these handy little pack rifles up here in Canada.

This ultralight, take-down rifle is designed to be the most versatile single-shot rifle available. The detachable barrel allows the rifle to be taken down to half its length and easily fit into most backpacks while still being quick to put into action.
Currently available in 5.7x28mm, this multi-cal gun will also be available in 9mm, 22LR and 22 WMR, and likely 17HMR

Retail is expected to be ~$550-$600
What do you think? Should we bring these in?
  • Packable Design – Less than 17” When Taken Down
  • 16” Barrel is Threaded 1/2″x28 for Suppressor, also available with shorter 5" barrel
  • Caliber Swap is Easy with just a Bolt Face and Barrel Change
  • Optics-Ready Picatinny Rail
  • Made in USA – Veteran Owned and Operated

I'd def. take a .22 Magnum. .maybe a 9mm. With the 5" barrel, being a single shot rifle .. what is the "technical" mumbo-jumbo .. still NR for center fire & rimfire? Does it, or does it have to {meet} the 26' OAL..? {thinking Mars leg is shorter}

The 5" version SHOULD be Non-Restricted just like the Mares Leg. Under 26" OAL but does not have folding or adjustable stock.

From RCMP.CA
Restricted =
  • Firearms designed or adapted to be fired when reduced to a length of less than 660 mm by folding, telescoping or otherwise

The 9" barrel version of the Mares leg is classified as a handgun. Only the ~12" ones are NR rifles.

Any idea on the costs of caliber conversions for these? I'm certainly interested in this gun!

Barrel and bolt-head combo should be ~275$CAD-300$CAD
Barrel only should be ~200$CAD

Thanks for offering to bring these in. Personally I’m going to wait and see if we can get the new 5.7 Sub2000 and in a non restricted configuration for about the same price as the current Gen3 sub2000’s that are around 7-800 Canadian.

I understand that the Stowaway and Sub2000 are not comparable but if I’m just looking for a 5.7 the Sub2000 has my interest more.
