STOWAWAY Rifles 5.7 are in stock and ready to ship

That's more like it, and much more in line with what I can see myself doing with this rifle. If it can be loaded up towards .22Hornet range or even higher, its appeal increases dramatically. :) I hope you post up some results of your experiments. :)
Need a follow up range visit, but starting with 40gr Vmax and No.7, 2400fps ish. I'm a pretty "vanilla" reloader, 5.7 data isn't real plentiful so I'm trying to play it safe, but at that speed it's producing a pretty considerable amount of energy over a 22wmr. And honestly it's a fun handy gun.

Excited for a shorty 9mm barrel to accompany it

Do they use an adaptor? Or is it actually a different receiver with integral short vertical pic rail section at the back?

It is a different receiver, our version comes with a a fixed stock which cannot be replaced or folded, which allows the gun to stay Non-Restricted, even with a shorter 5" barrel. The pistol model in the USA would be Restricted if we brought it up to Canada and added a folding stock.

Really? You are the importer/distributor, yet you don't know the product well enough to differentiate an "Adaptor" from a separate Receiver? Especially when it is right there on their website? C'mon guys, I expect better than that from you.....

THIS is what the people desire! I wish to use an Adaptor so that I can employ 1913 Picatiny-Interface Buttstock designs of my own choosing! Not all uses of this Adaptor are illegal and the Adapter itself needs no alteration. So long as a folding Buttstock's Hinge is drilled and pinned (eg. fixed) in the Open position, the flexible Picatinny interface is good to go. Please bring these in for us purchasing adopters of your product.

This is sad but not surprising. Expecting our overlords to allow the sale of this cool little toy in a configuration that allows a user to quickly and easily convert it into a pistol simply is not realistic. The fixed stock was, for us, inevitable. Look at all the silly nonsense we've had to endure with guns that required collapsing stocks to be permanently pinned open, or pinned not to collapse all the way, or with folders that are welded not to fold.

Please, no flaming required here; I'm no condoning this crap or agreeing with it. I'm just being...you know...not blind! I've seen too many examples of stupid interpretations of stupid laws by stupid people to come to any other conclusion about what will happen if this were offered.

I'm interested in this gun to buy it and shoot it and enjoy it...not to get involved in a pissing match with the rest of CGN or with the RCMP.

How is is the original stock held on? Have you had the grip off to see? I see from the mfg's website that it appears to be held on with 2 screws, but I wouldn't be surprised if to get the FRT approved if there was a "Canadian version" where the stock is attached a bit more permanently.

Pic from the mfg's website.

Bartok5 is correct

You can remove the pistol grip which accesses two additional screws that hold the stock in place. Pull the stock loose and insert the pic rail adapter in it's place. I should have checked this before posting yesterday, sorry.

We never really looked into this option as putting a folding stock on this firearm would make is restricted. That said there are plenty of options for 1913 fixed stocks as well.

I'll check with DMA and see if we can get some adapters up here for you guys.

Thank-you. I appreciate the response!

If the rifle cannot be fired when it's taken down (barrel removed), does the 26" OAL still apply in reference to a folder or is it 26" OAL from receiver end to stock end to stay NR?

It would make storage/transport even easier with a folder but at the same time, I don't want a restricted Stowaway, as that defeats the entire purpose of this rifle for me personally. There are plenty of fixed 1913 stock options to go with though, if OAL is a concern to maintain NR classification.

THIS is what we want! 👍👍👍

When I bought my Stowaway, I tried to tell them that loads of people would want these adaptors in and I was told the same answer about making it restricted and that they will not bring them in because of this. I tried to tell them what you just did, with zero success, so thanks for getting them to make a move on it. Good lookin' out, Mark!

I'm hoping they bring a mag fed version one day. I could see myself fumbling with loose rounds.

One fumbled to the ground, one in the gun, repeat.

This is great to learn! :) I've fired a number of rifles whose stocks were just metal tubes and never found any of them comfortable; I can see looking for a more substantial, more ergonomic replacement if it's easy to swap.
