Straight Pull AK rifles

Yeah... Business strategy.... This is what they were thinking... Too bad short sighted people didn't think it through.

1. Make manual action that is just mechanically different enough that it is not an AK variant.

2. Make proprietary 30 round magazines.

3. Make semi-auto version of same gun with NR frt since it is a variant of gun #1

4. Sell #### loads of guns and mags

5. Retire.....

Well I could have work great if,
1- DON'T mislead the potential buyers about your new super secret project. Infact just keep the dam thing under wraps.

2- ask a reasonable price for what your selling. 300-500$ would have ben more realistic for a spba ak ish.

Then do the rest and make money

If you wanna bang ####, just pull the piston out of a SKS and find out how ####ty steel case jam up. Be the roughest straight pull ever.

Yes, exactly this! Instead it received a bunch or fickle fodder from the very community that is supposed to support new innovations. Ie disengage brain and engage mouth...

Except Urban Tac spoke out of turn, and as a retailer didn't know the importer/manufacturers plan.

It was a member here that spoke out (he even apoligized) and everyone flooded Urban Tactical for info on this. I called Trigger and they confirmed everything that Urban Tac told me ( i was on a notify list there) a while after that I found out that Urban stopped doing business with Trigger so that kinda told me what I needed to know.

But if Triggers site is no longer under testing and the rifle is still listed for sale guess it's time for a call to them again to see if they can ship one out to my local dealer for me like they said they would.

lol bang ####

anyways, I remember when they basically said it was going to be a tantal and then the news dropped that it was some obsolete milsurp action dressed up as an AK.

I thought Trigger was supposed to be getting us Garands as well.

They do seem to over promise and under deliver.

And now RIA has a new distributor...

i doubt this gets approved, looks like they just disabled the gas port, would probably be super easy to mod into semi-auto.

The concept was to make it look like an AK on the oustide, with the same exterior contols but have the internals not accept AK workings.

The insides were proposed to be a Swiss K11 bolt action derivitave.

Yes there has been. Issues with the importer, myself I'm kind of sick of people emailing and asking me abuout it.
But... If I had not handled thart guns and if by chance I had not just walked in the room when the rcmp were giving it ,its first approvle. I would not have belived it eather.
Things have changed very fast in the gun bis in the last 24 months.
Many people have had to do some tap danceing to stay in the game. That includes us.

At that risk of being one more person to ask about the rifle... first approval? How many approvals does it need?

Still haven't found the FRT published yet on the table.

$1000 is steep but $1000 for one of these is a much better option than $800 for a deactivated paper weight. You know its almost $1000 for an airsoft AK? This bolt action version is still a much better deal. Id buy one just for the fact it may pave the way for a semi auto version in the future. Plus, if its allowed to have 10 round + magazines. Wowzers!

What I don't understand is why someone doesn't bring in receivers for Valmet M78 and build them here like they build kit guns in the states. I understand the people who paid $5000 for their M78's would be pissed but those who paid $250 for an SKS in the 1960's was probably also pissed when they came in by the boat load for less than what they paid.
