Thanks ..... Makes perfect sense now.
Could have use some cases like that in my pump 308 yesterday. Snapped the case head off one on firing while using brass that I should have retired 2 firings back. Went to extract and only the head came out. [cheap old guy fail]![]()
A case extractor comes in handy when that happens.
I have one somewhere, but couldn't find it. Have to ramp up that search later.
I pulled the bbl and used a cleaning brush from the breech end. No prob.![]()

You should retire all the 308 cases that were fired from that rifle, with that die setup. The only way for a case to snap at the case head is from having the wrong headspace and it then stretches the body above the webbing. Iām sure you know all this alreadyā¦.
Barnaul steel case, the ring is to allow the case to expand in sloppy chambers and semi'autos to prevent head seperation.
I didnāt know you could even resize steel cases.
Brutus doesn't read my posts, just trolls lol

lol I already trashed that whole lot. It's been fired FLR too many times and fired in a 760 pump. Loads were a bit hot as well.
