Striker fired choices

I can shoot any gun and grip them properly. But I’m still a lousy shot with all of them

Ah a graduate of the Bob's school of mediocrity. There are advantages at just being low average. First every Novice shooter at the range will have advice as to how to correct your grip after missing the target at 15 yards and you never have to get up and give boring acceptance speeches. I mean who really cares that your mother's reading of Col. Jeff Cooper's "3 easy steps to Mastering the 1911" led to you winning the worlds Bean Can Alley match.....that said, suggest buying a gun that feels good in your hand gets you four or five posts documenting your teenage wet dreams by the ghost of TDC.

Ah life is good on the Gunnutz farm.

Take Care

I have spent my share of time with many pistols and I keep going back to Glock, I shoot it well and it is comfortable in my hand. But at the same time I will shoot any pistol. Comfort is a MAJOR factor in good shooting. If the grip is not comfortable when shooting it will lead to fatigue which will affect performance. Of the plethora of options mentioned, they are all pretty much the same in function with small differences and can all be mastered.
The attitude of shooting down others suggestions because of this fanboy mentality is laughable. Next we will be told that if we don't drive say a BMW or some other car that we are bad drivers and all other cars a fat pigs.
The more the poster names change, the more the sh*t stays the same.

Haha! Love your eloquence, Bob. To illustrate how bad I am, at my last competition 26 years ago. my 3 position 50 yd target had no holes. Could have sworn at least 90% went into paper. Then I saw the target on the adjacent lane with a lot of holes. Poor guy must've had a negative score vs my ZERO. I had no recourse but to slither away in shame. Never joined any formal competition after that incident. And that's how my competition career ended.

Looks like a really cool little gun, but I think you're the only person I've heard of actually owning one.

Yeah. There are not many in the country. Out of all the poly guns I have owned or shot I am liking this the most. That includes smiths, sigs, glocks. But there is a lot of personal preference in that. Ergonomics simply work for me. And it always goes boom.... so far....

You have driven in Richmond I presume. Your obvious conclusion could be a truism. LOL

Walther Q5 Match
Sights are good. Mounting a red dot is easy to do and makes it even easier to shoot accurately.
3 different sized backstraps for the grip.
The ergonomics of the grip seems to be natural for most people.
Trigger is great. Put a black Apex trigger on it and you will love shooting it even more.

I'm pretty sure that every person who has fired my handguns preferred the Q5 over my other guns.

I started out years ago hating Glock (for no real reason). I've learned to appreciate what it offers and don't see myself replacing it as my top plastic gun. I've tried many others and they tend to fall short.

It's weird that TDC disappeared and Kidd X appeared. Now that Kidd X has disappeared AB blaster is here...

HAHAHA Well I haven't disappeared just can't be too bothered with posting. Got a long vacation the last time I posted something that ruffled feathers. Not sure who this Ab_blaster guy is but I like his style.

I still see nothing here that helps the OP. Just a lot of soap box talk.

I am very aware what is required for pistol shooting, and there's nothing anywhere that says you have to hold a reliable brick in your hand while executing proper grip. When shelling out your own coin on a pistol, why not pick one that feels good in your hand? Everyone's hands are different sizes.

Did you not understand what I wrote? To keep it simple here's what you need to look for when buying a pistol as it relates to grip. The pistol should sit squarely in the web of your hand while allowing your index finger to reach the trigger and operate it while using the centre of your first pad. Ideally there should be some gap/light between your finger and the frame. That's it. How it feels or comfort have nothing to do with proper fit. I hear lots about how it feels but zero about LOP and positioning in the hand.

Whatever you say Polkaroo.

Wow.. Now you guys are using time stamps as evidence that I am somehow someone else??? Come on...

Yup.

This thread sat dormant for almost 36 hours. In said thread, you were accused of being Kidd X (I dont know either of you and didnt care). Then, after 36 hours, Kidd X posts about not being you, then logs out. You are then logged in 5 minutes later and respond to the same thread.

Kidd X was no longer logged in, because you had to log him out to log into the other account.

Thats when I perk up, and call it as I see it.

You caught me. You must play a detective in real life or at least on TV  This is entertaining, I've been accused of being Kidd x and I've been accused of being Wyatt from MDI and I've been accused of being an employee of MDI. The conspiracies never end.

LOL dude just stop.

It took me a few minutes reading through yours, and Kidd X's, posts in the SLR thread to make up my mind (another 5 minutes apart post by one account referencing the other account).... I don't care IF you are both of them, I only care that you are arrogant enough to flaunt it. I am home alone today, with lots of time on my hands, I could make an amazing case..... just drop it.

EDIT:

Also... your description of proper grip on a pistol.... makes my point :) With 3 sets of backstraps, and 3 sets of side panels, the user of an HK SFP9 can easily modify the grip of the firearm to allow them to COMFORTABLY attain the grip you described :D
