Stripping krylon paint off an Ar-15

Long Rubbermaid container, $30 worth of gas and a pressure washer. Just soak it in gas for a day and pressure wash it off, worked for me. Acetone gets costly when you want to soak a gun, gas seems to make krylon bubble and peel.

Acetone has a flash point of -20C, so it's not much "safer" than gasoline.

Pro Tip: don't be smoking or working by candlelight with most of the chemicals mentioned in this thread...

Gas would probably also produce more fumes, resulting in higher concentrations in confined spaces.
 
Damn.....guess I better store my jerry cans outside cause they are in a glorified rubbermaid container.

I'm trying real hard to think of any sort of situation where mission critical was failed due to "enemy-spotting-rifle-without-####ty-paint-job".

If you like a BBQ paint finish on your $2K personal rifle by all means spray away Sir, I think it's idiotic personally but that's just me. You may also one day think so if you ever decide to try and sell it and get your money back.

Perhaps you should head over to lightfighter.net and post in the "Painting Your Carbine" thread to tell Pat Rogers how ### painted rifles are.

I paint all my guns. Now call me a idiot or anything you wish to my face . Don't want a painted gun ? Simple don't paint or don't buy one pretty simple
 
I used ez strip paint remover available at home depot, it worked much better than acetone which I tried first. Itdoes not have the volatility Of acetone and therefore no harsh odour so I was able to use it indoors. Just spray it on, it has a milky consistency, let it sit for 10 mins and wipe off( you may need some elbow grease with a toothbrush to get the paint off hard to reach places. Did the trick to deninjafy an AR I bought of the ee.

I'll keep that picture in mind next time I Air Drop into my local gun club with my rustoleum painted Norinco 1911 (may have to paint the locked case the 1911 is in also will have to check Firearms Act on Air Dropping into my local gun club with a restricted) lol
Give me a break......
