I use a Lee Classic Cast and I make 30 Herrett. Which involves a little more than a shoulder bump.
It's not any better, but it works just as well.I had not heard of tht product. Will have to get some.
Setting shoulder back .003". Bulk brass. Some cases stiffer than others. Press broke at weakest link of course. Not alot of metal around linkage bearings.A 7.62x51 shouldn’t be that hard to resize, did you put a snipe on the handle or something? lol
Almost sounds like something wasn’t set quite right or you have a bad sizing die maybe. I had a bad 7.5 French one a few years back and Lee replaced it with a new one
Same I've been using for a decade plus.Lee Classic Cast. Great strong well priced press
Primers do not seem to be crimped on tje 7.62mm Brass I have (IVI 68). Universal deprimer works well.Same I've been using for a decade plus.
No problem FL sizing IVI 7.62 fired machine gun brass.
It was worth it when it was $15-$20/100, gotta swage the primer crimp, lots of prep to make it useful, lasts pretty good in semi's or anything needing FL sizing.
Did a batch to see how it would perform in match bolt gun, again, lasted long, but never really gave the consistency of higher quality brass.
Still have a bunch, nothing left semi to shoot it in... bleh.
Sounds like an interesting old unit...I'd like to see it. But I don't understand how you could size 50BMG in a 7/8" press???The whole thing appears to made from cast components, and it accepts two different diameter die sets. The old 5/8 in, Ideal, system and later the standard 7/8 in system.
It's been used for sizing, reforming everything from 50BMG, down to 25acp.
My Rock Chucker was made in the 80s. It can still load sub 1/2 MOA rounds from 223 to 338LM.
I heard people would collect them back then!. Im not sure if prices will rebound or stay. I hope they stay affordable because i love them!. I also see people at gun shows trying to sell them for almost 700 bucks!. When there like 400 at intersurplus!.
RCBS Rock Chuker comes to mind....
Edit: I've used mine to reform 300RUM brass to 338 RUM ( 0.090 shorter). No issues.
Yep. Rock Chucker for sure. I'd be more worried about your bench coming loose from the wall than breaking it.
These guys know, I agree.RcBS rock chucker
redding big boss 2
Lee classic cast
I doubt it, I bought one, it arrived broken; contacted them, no warranty in Canada, sorry, SOL. Dealer took it back and gave me a refund; bought a Rock Chucker from them, should have got it right off the bat. No regrets, and I use it for resizing 30-06 to make 9.3 x 62 brass. Heavy going. Light work for the RCBS Rock Chucker. That SUCKS but i Bet they will WARRANTY it for you !![]()
Chinese cast, full of impurities and very porous.A 7.62x51 shouldn’t be that hard to resize, did you put a snipe on the handle or something? lol

One never knows how strong a Tool is (was) untill one breaks it. I broke 2 Vices in my Life, the 40 year old Record made in England is still in one pice --- Cheers and yes I apreciate RCBS tooling.Just broke my Frankfurt Arsenal F1 Press trying to FL resize and Shoulder Bump 7.62 Mil Brass. Any recommendations on a stronger press?
Thanks!
Lee classic cast press, built like a tank.Just broke my Frankfurt Arsenal F1 Press trying to FL resize and Shoulder Bump 7.62 Mil Brass. Any recommendations on a stronger press?

I just went out to look at it after reading your reply, it has an adapter for the larger die, with a 7/8NC insert.Sounds like an interesting old unit...I'd like to see it. But I don't understand how you could size 50BMG in a 7/8" press???

Had an old Lee in the 70's...worked great for the few things I was reloading then.
Runnin a rig from coast to coast since 1981 allowed me to stop at alllll the kool gun shops nation wide for a lot of yrs !
I picked up a Lyman kit early 80's from Barotto Sports in cowtown. (( aging myself now...lmao)) man, I slung a LOT of ammo thru that old heavy turret press Never an issue..EVER ! Kept the old Lyman till 2003..or so,
Got lots of supplies and ammo from Lever Arms in Vancouver. LeBaron's old shop in Mtl..also SIR in the peg...man, I loved stopping at those shops..miss them too !
Picked up a LEE progressive for my pistol stuff, in the mid 80's no issues either.
I then gra-gee-ated to the Forster Co Ax right when I sold my old Lyman...still have it...I Love it ! Smooth as silk...not much pressure needed to resize anything..7mmRM, 300WM, PRC's down to the 223...all with ease !
Best press I've ever owned for rifles !!
Immediately I bought the best aftermarket add-on for a Rock Chucker press, the Lee Breach-lock adaptor bushing and a bunch of colour coded adaptor bushings. Turned it from a mundane single stage, to a quick change press. Make sure you order the right one, they came in two sizes; 1 1/4" and 1 1/2". They really work well, and are 100% repeatable. https://leeprecision.com/breech-lock-bushing-update-kits, bushings are cheap.I just went out to look at it after reading your reply, it has an adapter for the larger die, with a 7/8NC insert.
It isn't for sale, if that's what you're after.
I use it for some of the antique "Ideal" dies I have.
