I have a Remington 11-48 that I want to strip down and refinish. After taking the recoil pad off I went to take off the stock but the slotted nut / bolt holding it on is seized tight. According to the manual I found on the Remington website it looks like a custom nut in conjunction with a lock washer and a flat washer. My thoughts at this point are; a) finding something along the lines of a tire iron and grinding down the tip to the maximum slot size. I would use something as close to the diameter of the hole as possible to reduce the odds of slipping. b) An impact gun. Again, probably having to grind a custom slotted tip.
Any advice will be appreciated.
