Suddenly, all these 'deals' on possibly blemished IURs....

Maybe they are selling off stock before Justine puts a lock on it all!!
On that note, where can I get lowers for a real good price and they are relatively good quality for a build later, I believe we should all get at least one to maybe make it harder for the ban to come in! I am even getting my wife to get a rpal and I will put a pistol and lower in her name!

Cc does not need civilian sales to stay afloat. They are owned by Colt USA.

With this price, have the barrel cut and crowned to 10.5.....

hmmm, thats an idea!

That's an idea but it would be illegal. Your rifle would become prohib due to Canada's stupid laws that make no sense at all.

I'm tempted to give one of these a try but I'd prefer a longer forend with a 15.7"

Would it be worth their while to ship these back to the U.S. Or just offer a great deal to lower inventory, I don't think the U.S. Is short on stock anymore!

It would be an awesome idea, they would sell at a premium in the US because they're not legal to import into the US - that would also be the problem with that idea, who wants to spend 10 years in jail for smuggling illegal weapons parts into the US.

I meant colt shipping them back, sorry for the confusion!

This is straight from the O'Dell Engineering Facebook page

O'Dell Engineering Ltd: " These are extras we got late unlike yours which had never left Canada. Yours was from the pristine group. The ones now are "as is" and have been shipped overseas and returned. Some are fine, other have marks. Our apologies but we couldn't turn down the opportunity to grab these for the commercial market."

Sounds like there was no plan for these to hit the commercial market but guess the danish must have received a few too many and shipped them back?

I'm happy knowing mine has never left Canada...The Kool Aid sure tastes great!

No they aren't...but if they were, they probably would. Colt USA can barely keep their heads above water.

If you look at Colt Canada's website it clearly states that they are in fact a division of Colt's manufacturing Company LLC. That is Colt USA.. Oh, and they received a large contract worth some $200 million or so to keep them afloat.

Not quite. Colt Canada is essentially financially independent from Colt USA.

Also, that $212 million, five-year contract went to both Colt and FN America, and that funding and work location would be determined upon each order of M4 carbines by the U.S. Army:

Colt Defense LLC, West Hartford, Connecticut (15QKN-15-D-0102); and FN America LLC, Columbia, South Carolina (W15QKN-15-D-0072), were awarded a $212,000,000 firm-fixed-price multi-year contract for M4 and M4A1 carbines for the Army and others, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 24, 2020. Bids were solicited via the Internet with six received. Funding and work location will be determined with each order. Army Contracting Command, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey, is the contracting activity.

No one knows how that money is going to be split by Colt and FN over the five years. Even if its split in half, that means a little over $20 million a year for Colt. Given how screwed they are, that's like pissing on a forest fire.

That said, it's $1 to $212 million they didn't have before.
