I'm wondering what some good models/brands of .22 semi-automatic rifles are,
I'm looking for a rifle with a collapsible stock and rail system.

I am a new shooter looking for my first rifle to buy. I don;t want it to be overly expensive, but I also don't want it to be cheap.

ANSCHÜTZ MSR RX-22. I found that mine runs great as long as I stay on top of the cleaning. I have a Vortex scope mounted and I shoot gophers out to 100 yards. Send me a private message if you would like photoes ir have any other questions.

Volquartsen or magnum research imo.
The rx-22 is great if you like a side folding stock.
Personally I think they look ugly!
Do youself a favor, do more reading on rimfirecentral please!!!!

Happy with the $800 proce tag?
Tapco stock and 10/22 would be almost half the cost.
Do you think a standard 10/22 groups half as well as an sr22?

Just has a peek in EE for sr22s.
Look at the asking price and track it for a week.
Youd be surprized at just how many sr22 turn overs there are.
If they are so great, why are people dumping them?
Simple answer is they are a money pit!

I picked up a Remington 597 combo before Christmas for $249, I'm really impressed with it, accurate and eats all the cheap ammo I can find

My 30 round mag only works with 25 rounds, but that is the only glitch, 10 round mags work great I haven't had any issues

The scope is basic but works good for a rimfire

If you looking for a fun plinker that is easy to clean and shoots surprisingly well it would be hard to beat

Sorry, missed the part about the stock and rail

And I heard they only feed if you clean and oil with 100 dollar bills. Dressing the trigger with gold plating will get the pull weight down some. And don't even think about driving an sr22 to the range without running premium fuel in you new Mercedes (they won't ride properly in standard day to day vehicles either). Best groups are had with diamond encrusted bullets. Once these few minor details are hashed out, they are good to go, and heyn who doesn't like to tinker a little. (not sure why some members get so angry about this?)

In all seriousness though, I would go with a 10/22 in a troy t22 chassis. I'm mad at myself for selling it.

!

If you really want rails, SR 22, but be forewarned, modding them can become an addiction (though less so with the US exchange rate). You can also get the rails by plonking a 10/22 into an Archangel stock. Search this forum for G36C for some ideas.
