Sulun Arms SS-211 at Tactical Imports!

Had my factory defect with ejectors out yesterday, ran a box of target loads through it , had a couple of issues, after firing it was very hard to break open, had to crack it over my knee , unsure what's going on there , as it not bad with snap caps.
Other issue, the ejector locking flat piece for the top barrel some how slid out of place twice, actually lost it in the dirt at once , luckily found it , that could be just a weak spring for the detent holding it in place.
Over all happy with this , for the price, few bugs that need to be worked out, I'm thinking that a front hand strap might be a good idea. Lol

The one on the EE is a defect model, it doesn't say so in the ad, and its marked up almost $200 over what they paid with shipping for it and they want shipping on top. Kinda greasy imo.

So... at what point in time is the 200 markup ok? :p The EE is chock full of it... Next you'll want to tell people what guns they can and can't own :p

We don't know if the seller _really_ wants to sell it, etc. All we can reasonably do is make the decision to buy or not.

Cheaper to replace the girlfriend than the gun. ^

These guns _are_ a "hunting accident" waiting to happen o_O

Finally snuck away for a quick range trip this morning to fire my extractor defect model. I intentionally only brought a handful of mixed rounds to try out so as not to have too much fun and stay longer than I should have, because adulthood.

Anyway, I had an unintentional bump fire with some 00 and with both barrels going off I ended up punching myself in the face, but other than that with minishells and reduced recoil 2.75" buck and slugs it was quite manageable and I was very pleased with the accuracy and grouping for the 7-10 yard range I intended it for.

I also think the barrel selector may be backwards on mine, I ran out of ammo just as I realized a different load came out than I was expecting on the the respective trigger pulls, but it could have been operator error so I will have to chase that down when I have more time (and more ammo).

All in all very happy with it and look forward to shooting some more to figure out its quirks.

I guess we know how you buy and sell. Maybe you missed where I said he omitted the fact it's a factory defect. Thats not exactly honest regardless of your stance on dickhead markup.

I was playing around dry firing mine and I'm pretty sure my selector is backwards as well. I didn't notice when I was shooting it but I was only shooting one type of ammo. When I was dry firing I noticed that the selective ejector was popping on the opposite barrel to the one I had "fired" according to the selector. I also accidentally bump fired mine for a nice two round surprise but wasn't shouldering it so avoided the face punch.

I also think the barrel selector may be backwards on mine.

Both mine and my friend's are similarly reversed. We were shooting pistol ammo from barrel inserts and it was easy to tell.

I buy and sell politely without calling people's selling 'greasy' or their markups 'dickhead' ;) The gun is described accurately - steel receiver ejector model - these were only sold as defects. This would be a lot more important to mention for the Al receiver extractor model since they were sold as both regular and defect. The seller is right here in this thread, it's very easy - "Hey, friend, I think it would be a lot nicer to mention in your ad that the gun was sold as a 'defect' - might save some misunderstanding and grief later. kthxbye." BTW the only explanation I've seen about why they were declared defects is that they were harder to open/#### than expected - was there something else?

Anyone that has an aluminum non defect model they want to sell dm me, I’ll pay over cost

I have the aluminum defect model that I would be interested in trading or selling. I bought one of each and the wife likes the steel ejector model better LOL. Besides them being tough to break open, you do not know that it has defects.

Thank you for the info, I thought the aluminum was the one with ejectors and unaffected, that makes MUCH more sense. That’s tempting thanks but I really want to be able to use it normally. Glad to hear it’s fun though, really want one of these..

There are 3 models:

>the model that is currently sold out but apparently will be restocked that has an aluminum receiver and extractors which is a very nice, smooth package.
>a "defect" model that also has an aluminum receiver and extractors, but is harder to break open and a thinner buttpad.
>another "defect" that has a steel receiver with ejectors.

Both defect models have a fibre optic front site, whereas their "nice" model is a brass bead.

I will add,

T.I. said in this thread that they decided against the ejector model for the final run as it added some extra stiffness to the action, people after receiving them claimed they didn't notice any extra force needed to re-set the ejector springs.
The foreend on the prototype batch is a bit different and there may be other small quality control issues with the prototypes. Some people reported sand in the action.

I would imagine they are all a bit stiff when new and the short barrel does not offer much leverage that is typically available for breaking open the action.

In my opinion, A slightly longer barrel and stock would be an improvement at the cost of a slightly longer package and the foreend strap is a good idea.

I had a standard and an extractor-defect model, and the standard was certainly nicer all around in my opinion. Way, way smoother opening, nicer wood, nicer finish. That said, I sold the standard and kept the defect.

Thanks for the feedback Jacotsmith,

What do you think about a slightly longer stock? Maybe not full size but more of a youth size say 2 inches longer then the current model?
I know some place a premium on over all length but I'm thinking the extra 3-4 inches of a slightly longer barrel and stock would improve handling at the cost of a slight weight and length penalty. Another bonus of a slightly longer stock would be easier fitting of aftermarket recoil pads.

I think the impetus for this design was to make it as short as legally possible.
There's plenty of other guns available with full sized stocks, and longer barrels.
I'll put up with the quirks for something different.

If it's really that difficult for someone to break the action, you could fashion an extension tool that slips into the barrels to give you more leverage. I have an old break action pellet pistol that has a plastic helper like that.
Makes all the difference.
