M-1 Carbine in .22 caliber by Chiappa has no mechanical similiraty to a real M-1 Carbine .30 caliber, but the RCMP still classified it as a variant and recently ban it anyway.

The M3 Super 90 clone being sold by TI could give some hope of this actually being sold in Canada if a replacement receiver can be made
