Summerland Long Range Fun Shoot - CANCELED, Sorry guys

All meals are $28 (no tip included) and include soap or salad; Main meal w/ baked potato and veggies; coffee/tea and desert. I doubt you will leave hungry. They have appys and a full bar so if you get there early, you can get started.

1) New York AA Steak (my choice)
2) BBQ Baby Backed Ribs
3) Salmon- baked
4) Cornish Game Hen.

My preference is steak and/or ribs. The soap can do without though, that some local Summerland custom?

Jerry, I'm camping out and will skip the dinner. Budget constraints, etc. Besides, you guys had way too much fun last year! :D

Just curious if anyone needs a ride up from the school. I have a free seat in my truck as long as you don't have a ton of gear as I will be bringing up the quad. And how are we for targets?? If we need more stuff to shoot at, I can probably get 2 brake drums off of a big rig. They have got to be 25" round and 16" deep or so. Weighs a bunch but might be fun to shoot at. Probably make an interesting sound too.

I'm not sure how many targets we need but I am bringing 10 in total. I don't think that I have enough stands for all of them, maybe only 2 of them.

For the shorter distances, we will have enough targets. Remember that there are lots of exposed boulders to plink off. Takes too long to set up dozens of targets. 10 spread out over various distances is just fine. I will have a box of clay pigeons which make excellent targets all the way out to 800yds.

Those big brakes are too big and heavy to work with. For the extreme range, 12" to 20" is great but they should be lighter steel as it gets way too heavy to pack around and complicated to get set up.

Do we have any larger gongs (up to 24") available? Please send me a PM on the sizes and number you are bringing.

It just snowed a bit this morning which will melt but it just adds more water to dry off the site. Still too much snow to get in. Hoping for warm weather from here on it.

Pack for wet ground and cool weather. For those shooting prone, suggest you double up the number of tarps/ground cover just incase the ground doesn't completely dry.

Let's see more guys choosing their menu items so I know how many and what to order.

Thanks,

Jerry

only 3 of my crew will be there for supper. 2 steaks and 1 ribs.
If there is room there is a GF and a Wife(not of the same guy) that would like to come for supper also. so if there is room another steak and a salmon.
I hope that is alright. let me know if there are any issues with this.

I didnt know anything about a dinner. Signme up for 1. Cut the horns off, wipe the ass and lead it out and I'll eat it. What I dont I'll take it out to gruond zero and snack on it.

GF and Wives are just fine. Just post their menu choices. If we need more room, it should be ok. Pretty early in the season.

thought i might tease you all a bit. this is my setup for the gongs. its short cause i couldnt find a longer 2x4. but you get the idea. we could put multiple gongs on one 2x4. i have 2 sets of those sawhorses.
