Suomi m31 issues

TNW's have a reputation as tinkerer guns (hello belt feds) Many of them have needed some work to work reliably but if you know this going in it's not so big a deal especially when you consider that they are firearms that are gererally prohibited here as full auto's.

The suomi was an open bolt full auto sub machinegun, new semi auto receivers were built and original parts modified for closed bolt semi auto operation only. The firearms are now firing in a way they were never designed to and that can cause problems unfortunately. This is not an excuse however for crappy and inadequate welds but it is an easy fix. You end up with a legal non restricted rifle that looks like a sub machinegun that would otherwise be prohibited!

Score in my opinion but I also like tinkering with firearms and not everybody does. So these TNW guns are not for everyone. I can't wait for the PPSH to become available, I have a drum mag waiting for these to show.

This guy hit the nail on the head. I don't have the license to own a prohip. so this is the only thing i can own as a SMG. I bought a lever action shotgun and reliability is not good but i got it to a gun smith and it works great

Odd. Mine loves both, one of my 4 sticks is pinned too tight, so it only holds 4.5 instead of 5.5, but still functions well so far.

The mag that is too tight Remove the rivot and grind down the plate that holds the cartridge and make it hold 5.5 rounds an reinstall the rivot. thats what i did and your good to go

Well North Sylva What do you have to say?

The took mine back on warranty and sent me a new one, by the end of the week of receiving mine. new one looks nice, maybe welded a bit better, same weld, just looks a little better. we will see how well it holds up.

Seems that the soumi performs as well as it looks.

What a piece of garbage it is.

When I pointed this out several months ago, I got flamed by all those "know it all" "arm chair experts" here on CGN.

Where are they now? All those know it alls?

Looks like their expertise is as "good" as that piece of sheit of suomi.

Hey!? I resemble that remark!

What do you mean? resemble or resent?

Anyhow, I am not talking about you, I am rather talking about the suomi firearms.

Sorry, didn't mean to offend you.

None taken! It was just joke.

I am still a bit peeved that the Suomis are being discussed on the Red rifle forum. My grandfather is probably spinning in his grave....

An original Suomi is a fantastic gun and is in a different league from the TNW junk.

Why we have to have mags pinned is beyound me, but with 5 rnds in mag & inserted, mine ejects the first rnd when bolt is pulled back.
Mine will not opperate with Norc 9mm ammo.
Can't get the front site to move.
Rear cap moves from shooting & then the groove in the end cap doesn't line up with the cocking handle & jambs.

Should have bought a sask sten when available.
