Well...some of 'em at least.

I just got in a shipment from the turkeys at Questar, no problems. First time I have ever dealt with them but I can tell right now these folks will do just fine. You get an 'A'.

Likewise, for mail order I have dealt in the past with the fellas at Wolverine and they were good too. An excellent source for the HK stuff in particular...and they get an 'A' too.

I am leaving this one out to the foolish firearm forum folk to decide: Marstar...I damn near ripped my hair out by the roots trying to deal with those people as I struggled to buy one of those chicom M14's. I gave up in disgust; three times they told me I was on the waiting list, and three times I got hosed! Now many of the other guys had great success with them but for me personally? I got treated like dirt and I am giving them an 'F'. Your mileage may vary and if so, I hope you got treated better than I did.

Next up is P&D. To me this is the benchmark standard in the business. The other guys out there may be as good, but they won't be better - because perfect is as good as it gets! Nobody can touch them for selection, nobody can touch them for service and they take this sport as seriously as we do! The only fault I could find with them (and this borders on nitpickery) is that they don't have much in the way of traditional black powder guns...but with that, they still come in with an A+!

It has been a pleasure dealing with most of these folks and I hope they are around for a long time to come.:D

I have seached the various lists we maintained on the M-14s, we cannot find any "Glenfilthie" listed.

Seriously, how can we defenb your allegations when you don't identify yourself ?

I would aprpeciate the courtesy of knowing your name so we can check when you were on the lists, perhaps you would be kind enough to forward copies of the e mails you exchanged ?? send them to john@marstar.ca

I can assure you that if your statement is accurate you will get the rifle....

I've only had one dealing with Marstar. I probably also lost some hair on that one. But when the end finally came, it was all made right.
 
My last purchase was from CanadaAmmo. I ordered a Grizzly shotgun on Sunday night, it was shipped out on Monday and at my door in Toronto on Friday. Not bad for free shipping.

The packaging left something to be desired (shotgun in transparent plastic wrap inside a cardboard box) as the end of the box ripped off in transit leaving the barrel exposed. It wouldn't have been an issue of Canada Post understood the meaning of "signature required" and didn't leave the damn thing on my porch. All in all it's Canada Post's fault IMO.

Overall rating: a solid A.

Hey, don't forget Alberta Tactical Rifle. Rick has gone beyond what is expected as a sales guy in terms of service as far as I am concerned. He pays attention to all the details and it doesn't matter if you are looking for a little part or want one of his custom guns, you get treated the same.
I was in need of an adapter for a new upper to fit an old lower. I emailed him on a Sunday, thinking he would see the email on Monday, and 10 minutes later I get a response and the part is out the door Monday morning. Now that is service!

PS: I agree with your other ratings for the most part. I have never ordered from Marstar so I don't know either way about their service.
 
Marstar - ordered 4 1911 meggar mags, and a flashlight headlamp... shipping was less than my quote by 2$ and it arived in 4 business days from order... very happy with the products at a great price..... A
 
I placed an order with Marstar in February. Then I emailed about a week later looking for an update. No response. Emailed a couple more times over the next few weeks looking for updates, no response. Then finally I called. The guy said my order was there. A month passes, maybe more. I email again. This time I get a response that there is no order and can I resubmit it? Frustrated, I do. So they put it on rush, but I get delayed because of something at the CFO and they can do no more. So lots of calls later (and a couple weeks) my order is finally filled.

My story. YMMV.
 
It will be interesting to see how the original complainant responds to Marstar's (Johnone) offer. Some people exagerate their complaints when they think they are are anonymous. Interesting to see the outcome.
 
I have had very positive experiences with Frontier, CanAm, Questar & Moving Target. I would deal with all of them again in a heartbeat.
 
I have dealt with several sponsors on here. do not have time to write about them all.
I will mention Marstar. just ordered a Scope and Ghost rings by phone. order was delivered to my house within 4 business days. cannot complain there.
 
I have ordered from Marstar on a couple occasions. The first order was very prompt and showed up at my door in less that two weeks.

The second order went almost a month with nothing showing up so I made a call. Got a fella named Frank on the other end who said the only invoice they had for me was the first one so we put another through right there on the phone. Eight days later a package FULL of M14 mags arrived at my door exactly as ordered.

The big complaint I have is that shipping is damn expensive lol but I guess that has more to do with Canada (smart as a) Post. I'd also bet that half the delay after I talked to Frank was CP getting that little package the huge distance of less than 200 kms.
 
I've had dealings with probably half of the sponsors and they've all been positive, but Mark and Selena at Questar set the standard--you place your order on their website, you're emailed your receipt right away, and shortly thereafter the Canada Post tracking information shows up in your email. Absolutely first class--I wish all dealers were as efficient.
 
Thanks for the offer John - all this went down about 3 years ago and was probably before your time. I don't blame you for my hassles at all. Each time I fell off the list the first three times the fellas could never find any evidence of my order either.

Fortunately my fortunes have changed much for the better and I am no longer confined to the bargain bins. If I ever get the hankerin' for an M14 again I will pay for the Springfield and be happy with that.

You're complaining about a deal that supposed of went south THREE YEARS ago. It's obvious that you don't realize that "John' is the owner of Marstar and has been before your time. Not cool man.
