My take on the report card:
The Shooting Edge - A - very helpful, very upfront about inventory, been very helpful the one time things went awry, great at getting new toys in country, very solid
Freedom Ventures - A - again, very knowledgable, great guy to talk to, and was very prompt in dealing with a broken sight on one of my STIs. Again, another pillar for the firearms community in Canada.
Frontier Firearms - A - the little engine that could. Ordered from Frontier several times, always prompt and courteous, always in communication even if a delay is possible, these guys are doing great things.
Wolverine Supplies - A - Every time I order from them, they amaze me in terms of product knowledge and customer service. The only reason I wont give them an A+ is because I have not dealt with them often enough (though that will change, given my very positive past history with them).
Dlask Arms - A - for a gunsmith, he has always been accurate in terms of timelines and pricing. As can be seen in numerous other threads about other smiths where this is not always the case, Dlask gets an A from me
Questar - A - have not had many dealings with Questar but every transaction has always been very smooth, with zero complications. I also appreciated their excellent website when other companies were still struggling to get something serviceable on the web.
Marstar - B - I have ordered from Marstar many, many times. Most of the time, they are good. But, and there is a but, their communication has faltered at times. Email is hit-and-miss (more miss than hit) and some of my phone conversations turned into games of "who can I transfer you to". That said, when they get it right, they get it right. I know now to only phone or fax, and its hard to beat their pricing.
Canada Ammo - D - Things started so well. Fast replies to emails, easy to order things from their website. And then I wait. And wait. No replies from emails. Being told to call back because there is no one there to take my order cancellation after two months of waiting for a gun that was in stock at time of ordering (and throughout the two months). Probably would not have been so bad if I would not have had my CC charged almost immediately, rather than when the gun was actually transferred and shipped. Refund was slow incoming. This one actually bothers me because so many other people have had such positive dealings with Can Am (and God knows they have cool stuff that I would love to spend some money on). In the end, that experience left a VERY bad taste in my mouth, especially in comparison to the other positive experiences I have had. Given Mark's fast replies to my email before my order and given other people's experience, I am sure there is alot of good in that company. I just hit that unlucky two month patch.
