Suppressors in Canada

I don't like the argument. If im forced to buy suppreszors for my toys it is just as bad as not being allowed to own them.

If somebody would be interested in compiling a factually based argument for the legalization of suppressors I would use that info to write a letter to my MP. It baffles me these things are prohibited when they make so much sense. I feel bad for the neighbors I have closest to my shooting range. Why should they have to hear full bore gun shots when the technology exists to reduce the noise at no cost to safety? There is so much to gain from them and really no down side, at least not that I am aware of.

Have a read at this well written paper, by CGN member Saputin

Silencers/Suppressors/Mufflers/Moderator also reduce felt recoil and can improve accuracy if built properly. By reducing noise and recoil it makes shooting more enjoyable for recoil sensative shooters and children and make it more the sport more appealing to them. My wifes Ruger Hawkeye in .260 Remington with a Tunderbeast CB9. The barrel was shortened to 16 1/2" (we like the shorter barrels) and added a Boyds stock (cut to fit her LOP)

Silencers are evil and should stay banned .We have seen them in the movies , Evil ! Evil !

But we should be able to use suppressors for safety equipment .
Or mufflers to be politically correct and not offend our neighbors.

^^^^ I like your portable setup..
Thanks. Someone was remodeling their kitchen and was pitching the old counter top. (corean?) Someone threw out one of the pressboard tables (it got wet and swelled)

I took the legs off the junk table and installed them onto the countertop to make it a portable fish cleaning station and it doubles as a rifle bench. It's a little short but, I have some fence railing that, you guessed it, I picked up from being thrown out, that I will use as leg extensions to raise it for me.

Several years ago I had an RCMP ask if I could make a suppressor for a .22. I said I could but I would need a letter from him placing an order and then I would have to apply for the licensing. Never heard another word from him...

You should give him half a dozen of trailer tires and tell him if thes are bolted thigh they work nice. Just to see his réaction

I keep hearing this.

Could the CSSA or someone hire a lawyer to do the same here? I have no idea how you make somethig like this happen.

You sue the government for violating the OH&S Act by preventing the use of the only effective hearing safety device available to shooters and those who make their living using firearms. This is how the UK shooters won the right to use silencers.

Phhht Not even close.

Once you start shooting suppressed you will never want to shoot without one.

i dont own a single suppressor currently, and they go for a mere NZD$200 for a bottom of the barrel aluminium suppressor here - which are fine for any bolt gun.
I personally dont like them.
Although the Titanium QD model that i mentioned i will be all over like white on rice.

After we can hunt with AR rifles and take our prohib rifles to the range, maybe this will be the next step...

LOL those should not even be on the priority list until the constitutional issues of the firearms act are dealt with and making the mere possession of a firearm not a crime.
