Suppressors?

As much as I am for the legal possesion of supressors lets not kid ourselves.... None of the gangbangers dropping spec fire in toronto are using them due to how hard they are to obtain. Even if we did legalize them it would be short lived due to some POS with a dime bag in his pocket, 10 rounds of all diff grains and manufacture and a ####ing suppressor. Part of the issue behind suppressors is the "hollywood" thug/criminal persona. unfortunatly the vast majority of sheep on this planet are in fact "educated" by hollywood.

If they were going to use a suppreesor it would have already happened. Criminals using them is pure hollywod BS, even in places where they are legal no one can document any cases of them ever being used in a crime.

I know this is a old thread, I found recently the canada justice law website updated on firearm section, it seems theres no more section about prohibited device about reducing a firearm report.

Professionally manufactured silencers may be difficult to obtain but field expedient suppressors are ridiculously easy to make. A potato or pop bottle full of shaving cream or an automotive oil filter are all amazingly effective.

The criminal use of silencers is so rare as to be a non-issue because the scumbags don't want the extra charges that come along with the use of a silencer and there are so many other options that come without that kind of risk.
