NEA uppers and lowers are anodized with some pretty rough texture compared to other AR's I've owned, plus it's lighter colored. Now, I don't care if they look spic and span when they are my property as long as they shoot straight, but I borrowed an NEA upper from a buddy (to shoot a match) so I wanna make sure it's returned clean enough to eat off, which would involve a blast with carb cleaner as well. Carb cleaner leaves these white swirls as it displaces the oils, so I wanted to check if lightly oiling the upper and wiping it down after the cleaning will affect it negatively in any way. I know the finish won't have issue with clp, but I'm more worried about uneven look or it becoming slippery and hard to clean out. Any issues or am I gtg with light oiling?
