Surplus CZ 85s/first pistol purchase

Good God man, where ever did you get that miss conception from :p

M

I am not a wise man. I thought I'd only buy one or two rifles and call it a day. I couldn't have been more wrong. There's always one more that I "need". Hard drugs would have been cheaper.

I did get to manhandle a couple of other handguns along side a CZ 85 today. None of them fit my hand as nicely as the CZ did, it's like it was made to be. The firearm god's have spoken to me, the path is clear. Now to get myself a CZ.

Any idea on a time frame as to when they will be available? I'd much rather give my business to a supporting retailer than "the dealer that must not be named", but a man can only not buy firearms for so long!

And here I thought firearms would be a cheaper hobby than cars.

He is speculated the worn out US Army Beretta M9 aka 92FS pistols will eventually hit the Canadian retail market once the US Army transitions to the SIG 320. ?There are lots of 92S versions of the Beretta on retail shelves right now. The 85 Combat is no longer listed on the CZ website, or wasn't the last time I looked.

Foolish man we suck a lot of naive folks in to the shooting world thinking how inexpensive one gun is.......gun God knows better...

Take Care

Sorry if I missed it earlier in the thread but have you tried handling a Jericho 941 yet? They often sell for around the 600-700 dollar mark and are very nice guns.

Where would the CZ's come from then?

I have no idea what his speculation is based upon. I would suggest you ask him. If CZUB is not listing the 85 Combat on their website then it is a clear indication they may not be making any more of them. Lots of Czech Police surplus ones around right now.

I'm currently planning on buying the shawdow 1 for my first pistol. Besides sights and a better trigger I'm assuming what are the differences between the cz75 and shadow 1? And cz75 and cz85? Are mags compatible between them?

Lever Arms has a Surplus BUL STORM Pistol that is supposed to be based on the cz 75. Looks like it's a clone with not 100% compatible parts though ...... just going by the description ... I don't know anything about the pistol myself. Israeli made.

When you buy from a gun store, all you have to do is sit back and wait; they'll take care of everything else.

Did you get the good or very good condition one? Interested to see the condition of it when it arrives.
