Surplus HP ammo at the range...

Back from the range with my NM M1A, i started the day with the metallic sights, my eyes are getting old, i could keep a 3 MOA with my HP 74 but i got bored shooting open sights so i had brought along a BNIB CASM mount and a BNIB Burris 3X9X40 with BDC...
So at the range installed the mount, mounted the scope, zeroed it, the proceed to close the MOA and i did, on average with the HP 74 surplus and my scoped NM M1A, i was getting on average 1.5- 1.8 MOA, a couple of groups just under 1.5MOA, God i love this ammo...
This surplus is perfect, no failures and another 240 rounds gone... Yeah... JP.:)

Gonna pull my rifle out of retierment and try my Nemesis with the HP 74, getting my rig ready for the range... JP.

The Nemesis and S&B 5X25X56 PMII combo being a proven sub .25 MOA with tailored handloads, is pretty good with factory ammo...
I expect by what iv'e seen so far, that this HP 74 ammo could hover around .5 MOA at 100 yards out of this bolf rifle...
My rig and ammo is ready, this should be fun, now waiting for the wind to calm down and the sun to come out... JP.

Do not use the HP ammo in any bolt gun with a match chamber, primers are hard, with the Nemesis, i got light strikes 2 or 3 times, extraction was hard on every shot, only shot 5 rounds tru my rifle...
This ammo wont be used in any of my precision rig... JP.:runaway:

Thanks for the report. Can't wait till someone tries it in the 10TR.

I plan to get some for my TRG22 that shots 3/4MOA with handloads that are 75c a round at the old stock prices, figure will easily be a buck a round with new stock.

Great to get these Surplus at 76c a round if it does 1 MOA.
